Aloha! I'm Demian, owner of Makana Maui Adventures, who grew up on the East, West, and far West coastlines of the U. S. With a passion for exploring the Hawaiian Islands, since my father moved to Lanai and the Big Island In 1988. For 17 years, Hawaii was my home away from California, leaving no stone unturned, while always discovering something new and incredible about this paradise. The Aloha spirit of the islands were instilled in me and knew it was a matter of time before committing to full time living on my favorite island of all, Maui! 15 years ago. The natural wonders, lifestyle, and history of discovering the Hawaiian islands inspired me to start doing private tours 10 years ago, having gained extensive experience in adventure tours, jungle excursions, cultural sightseeing tours, hiking tours, and multi-day experiences, with an education on Hawaiian history, flora, fauna and Volcanology. I've been in the ocean my entire life on all coasts, from boating, fishing, netting for shrimp and crab, ocean sports, diving, to being an avid open water swimmer. A real passion of mine is to discover places I truly resonate with. I apply this wherever I go, having explored internationally since the mid 90's. Here are some of my credentials: Public Utilities Commission - motor carrier permit #4953C. Department of Land and Natural Resources permit for exploring that much more. All required Commercial insurances. First Aid/CPR/AED Certified from the American Heart Association. Maui Mauka - Nature Based Tourism - Triple Certified. I created this tour to be able to appeal to all types of people. In some ways, it's a combination of who I am: an explorer, a foodie, cultured, and a wine & spirits connoisseur on occasion. So you choose! Whether you prefer more adventure, sightseeing, cultural, food, and spirits tour, or a combination, experience the diversity Maui has to offer by customizing your own private tour with preferred locations and flexibility along the way. Your private guide will make sure you receive a unique experience that offers a broad perspective on how diverse this 727 square mile island is. Please keep in mind, there are more activity options provided then can be accomplished in a single day, allowing you the flexibility of creating an ideal tour! Demian was absolutely the perfect guide for our family. We had spoken to him before our trip and it was very clear that he listened to and understood everything we discussed with him. We are very active 70 year olds traveling with our 18 and 19 year old grandsons. Demian took us to places we never would have gone on our own, we had a thrilling, fun-filled day. He is extremely flexible and great fun to be with. He has extensive knowledge of Maui (and of all of Hawaii) and he loves to share it. All four of us had an amazing day with him; we could not have asked for anything more. Five stars are not enough.

We had a great day with Demian! We say the 'left' side of Maui in a way that we think few people do. The stop to swim in the ocean was terrific as was the stop at the 'dragon's teeth' at Makaluapuna Point - both highlights of the day! Seeing the various microclimates was amazing and the stop for lunch at the distillery was a great way to top of the day. A truly remarkable experience,

Our tour on the western portion of Maui was nothing short of spectacular! Demian knew all the great spots to hit that were mostly away from the ‘touristy’ areas but definitely hidden gems to the locals. A new adventure seemed to be awaiting around every corner. One thing we loved is the lack of an overly structured itinerary. Demian provided us options as we went and he did a great job of catering the experiences so that all ages and adventure levels in our group could have an enjoyable time. So much was packed into this tour from a beautiful uncrowded beach, rugged shoreline hikes, stops at delicious local food trucks, and much much more. It is surely a day we will never forget!

Central Valley: • Explore Iao Valley. take a leisurely walk to native species, or hike into the jungle, take a dip in the freshwater stream of pools. • Visit a stunning tropical plantation, and have lunch. Upcountry Maui: • Visit a beautiful Lavender farm and gardens at 4000 ft (entry fee). • Drive up switchbacks for panoramic views. • Visit an organic Vodka/Rum/Gin/Tequila distillery. Have lunch at the Cocktail Cafe for local farm to table food and cocktails.
