I'm a five star private tour operator who grew up on the East, West, and far West coastlines of the U. S. With a passion for exploring the Hawaiian Islands, since my father moved to Lanai and the Big Island In 1988. A great stamina building hiking tour!
Overview of your Maui tour
A local friend of mine took me on this hike in 2012 and loved the workout and views! After many times, I began offering it professionally since 2017. It's a lot of fun, and a good stamina builder! Hike into the clouds with spectacular 360 degree views of the lush rainforest of Waihe'e valley in Mauna Kahalawe Volcano to the Haleakala Volcano of East Maui, incredible ocean views, and one of Maui's largest waterfalls in the distance. It's a fairly steep 5 mile hike roundtrip on a sturdy trail, so good hiking shoes are absolutely necessary. The 2nd phase is a unique local experience, descending down to natural waterfall slides to cool off in the freshwater pools. This particular hike is also great for larger groups and will customize pricing accordingly. Minimum age 9/Maximum age 65. (Level: Moderately strenuous/Stamina builder)
Your Maui tour itinerary
• From the meeting point, the commute is less then 1 hour roundtrip to the hiking destination. • The 1st phase of the hike will begin on a ridge of Mauna Kahalawe, Maui's oldest extinct volcano, and is roughly 2. 5 hours roundtrip. • Once we reach the top, we can enjoy snacks at a picnic table with panoramic views. • The 2nd phase involves driving to hidden location nearby, local style. • From there, it's a very short hike, descending down to natural waterslide pools. Here you can swim or jump into the freshwater pools, climb into a waterslide, which is great for kids! What a great way to cool off and feel refreshed after our hike.
