Yorkshire and Northumberland - 5 days

Day 1 . A loop from starting point to Saltaire, Haworth, with an option to stop at Bolton Abbey, then Brimham rocks & Fountains abbey. 2 From Knaresborough via Helmsley & the North York Moors to Whitby: choices from: Norton Conyers, Thirsk, rievaulx abbey and Helmsley castle, Lastingham st Marys, Wheeldale roman road, Goathland (hogsmeade from Harry Potter) station, Whitby abbey (overnight whitby) 3 Whitby to Northumberland, bedes church, a selection of Northumberland castlesfrom Warkworth, Alnwick, Dunstanburgh, Bamburgh and on to Lindisfarne priory (and castle from without) Overnight on the Holy Island or nearby. 4 remainder of the northumberland castles and Holy Island sites followed by Edlingham castle and possibly Cragside, en route to Hadrians wall, Housteads fort and Vindolanda, with an optional (somewhat strenuous)walk to sycamore gap. overnight in the area, or move on to Durham 5. Durham & the Northern Dales, perhaps including richmond castle, Jervaulx and Middleham , Ripon and to Knaresboro
