Castles and cathedrals Tour: Yorkshire and Lincolnshire

Visit three of the finest Gothic buildings in Europe: The Minster in York (and view the castle and city walls), the cathedral of Lincoln (and its adjoining castle) and Beverley minster. Along the way we will also see (and cross) the Humber Bridge, which was the longest suspension bridge in the world when constructed in 1981.

Yorkshire Air Museum and The York Cold War Bunker

The site of the museum is an authentic WW11 Heavy Bomber airbase. The museum has over 60 exhibits ranging from replicas of the first machines to take to the air to supersonic jets and nuclear bombers. One of the starring aircraft is a Halifax heavy bomber which is of the type that would have been stationed here. The majority of the buildings here also date back to WW11 and with wartime personnel coming from across the globe you will be able to learn about their history and achievements.
The base, at various times, has been occupied by the RAF, two free French heavy bomber squadrons and after the war was handed over to the United States Air Force, Strategic Air Command. The runway has been used for test flying prototype military aircraft, circuits and landings for RAF pilots and was the European runway for the space shuttle if needed.
The Cold War Bunker is one of a group built to monitor fallout after a nuclear attack.
The museum can be summed up in two words. Absolutely fascinating.

This tour is designed to provide a vehicle for landscape or other photographic tuition.

My specialism include reflections, industrial landscapes and bracketed exposure HDR. An itinerary can be constructed to suit individual preferences, and weather/lighting conditions. Suitable for any experience level and camera type although for the best result a camera able to shoot RAW would be ideal.

Post-Processing workshop might also be available or included in the hours.
