Absolutely unique tour not offered anywhere else! We will visit the historic Navan Centre & Fort which is a place where myth and reality meet. It is one of Ireland's most famous and important archaeological sites, the legendary Emain Macha. Navan Fort is an ancient ceremonial monument near Armagh, Northern Ireland. According to tradition it was one of the great royal sites of pre-Christian Gaelic Ireland and the capital of Ulaidh (Ulster). We will also visit Armagh which is the county town of County Armagh and a city in Northern Ireland. It is the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland - the seat of the Archbishops of Armagh, the Primates of All Ireland for both the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of Ireland. It has two beautiful cathedrals which we will also visit! Brian Boru (High King of Ireland) is believed to be buried in the graveyard of the St. Patrick's Church of Ireland cathedral. After having conquered the island during the 990s, he became High King of Ireland in 1002, until his death in 1014.
Barry made my family comfortable and did a great job of helping us understand the history of the peoples from which we descended. He was careful to note our interests and find ways to be certain we enjoyed local cultural events and foods. He also gave us many options for learning more! I hope we can return to Northern Ireland someday and if so, we will arrange another tour with him.

Barry went above and beyond to show us places we hadn't thought of visiting and tailored the tour to our interests, even adding a tour of Belfast City to the end.
