Walking tour of the medina

Ahmed is a superb guide. Ahmed was immediate and professional in all communication, he was flexible in meeting our needs, and he could not have been a more welcoming and informed host in touring historic Tunis. Ahmed was equally relevant and fascinating to my two twenty-something kids and to me as an inquisitive and endlessly questioning historian. Ahmed devised a colorful walking tour through the markets, medinas, historic houses, madrassas, and tombs of the old city. We were treated to panoramic views and stories on Tunis covering modern history and everything else we had the wit to inquire about. It was clear that he was well liked and familiar with many vendors, dossents, and shopkeepers that we met along the way. Ahmed was also helpful in our ongoing planning suggesting additional spots to visit, restaurants, and things to observe and uncover during our Tunisian visit. From the first moment, Ahmed was smart, funny, warm, and professional. He led us through three hours of an introduction to the history, art, architecture, customs, and delights of Tunis. Everything Ahmed described was enhanced by his insights and storytelling talent. Ahmed was an amazing guide anyone would be lucky to be in his hands.

Highly recommend Ahmed! He communicates before the tour and arrives early so no delays. Ahmed speaks English very well and knows the history of Tunisia like a scholar. The weather was raining so he adjusted the tour so we could see the most we could around the weather. It was a great day. Ahmed is your guide!

We definitely recommend this tour. You can walk around the Medina by yourself and look into the stores in the souks. But there is so much more of interest here in the mosques and "dars" and other monuments that you would miss without a good guide like Ahmed. Knowledgeable and attentive. Great guy.
