Day trip from Tunis In the footsteps of Berbers

This tour is a full day trip dedicated to the discovery of the Berber heritage in the surroundings of Tunis. You will immerse yourself in the culture of these indigenous populations and explore their way of life and traditions. With me your private guide you will get in touch with the locals to have an extraordinary unique experience. You will be learning their special history and their wealthy culture. You will have opportunities to see the berber cities from multiple perspectives including: within nature, from rooftops, and from inside. • On our way to Zriba, a break is planned to admire the famous Roman aqueduct. • We will then stroll in the old quarters visiting some of the old houses and discover their typical architecture. We will also climb to the top of the promontory for an exceptional panoramic view. • Then head towards the village of Jradou. We will walk in the central square visiting then a craftsman specialized in the manufacture of objects based on Halfa (stipa tenacissima) which is the most representative craft of this village. • Then head to Takrouna. This village is built on a rock culminating at 200 meters above sea level with a breathtaking 360 degree view. We will be visiting a house of a local and discovering it's typical architecture (rooms and furniture). • We will be offered to eat the famous typical Tabouna bread made in Gouja (traditional oven) served with oliveoil, to finish with tasting of a delicious mint tea. • Our visit will end in the village café-museum with its extraordinary atmosphere.
