Shore excursion: Tunis Medina, Sidi Bou Said & Carthage

We had a wonderful private tour in Tunis and could not have asked for a better guide. Our guide Nouriddine was extremely knowledgeable, warm, kind and professional, and brought the history and culture of Tunisia to life throughout the day. We were travelling with a small child, and we especially appreciated how thoughtful, patient and considerate he was with her and with our whole family. He made sure the pace was comfortable for everyone and was genuinely warm and caring, which made the day even more enjoyable. We visited Carthage, beautiful Sidi Bou Said and the Medina of Tunis. The tour was very well organized but never felt rushed. We loved his local insight, interesting stories and flexibility throughout the day. It was a fantastic introduction to Tunisia and truly one of the highlights of our trip. We felt very well looked after from beginning to end. We would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Tunis, especially families travelling with children. Thank you for such a memorable day! ❤️🇹🇳

Tunis for a day is possible but there is so much to see and experience. Our guide Noureddine was everything you would possibly want in a guide for a short visit. As I mentioned, there is much to see in this city, and we only saw the very tip of the "iceberg". Noureddine was caring to our need to limit the amount of walking and climbing. He did his best to show us the sights from the best vantage points taking into consideration our limitations.

Noureddin was a delight to spend time with and was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the sights he shared with us. He showed us a variety of sites including the ancient Phoenician ports, a Roman aqueduct and cistern, the American War Cemetary which is stunningly beautiful and moving. His knowledge of history was in depth and wide ranging. Noureddin is a great raconteur. We visited the souks, which due to a religious holiday were mainly closed but he introduced us to a man who demonstrated how felt chechias, the traditional Tunisian hat (a bit like a fez) were made. We also had an unexpected visit to a rooftop vantage point with stunning views across the city. Thanks for a great half day in Tunis, Noureddin.

We had a marvelous tour. Nourredine was very knowledgeable and brought his city alive. We throughly enjoyed our tour of Tunis.

Noureddine is an outstanding guide and person and if I could, I would give him 6 stars. He did a great job of hitting all the highlights of Tunis and I really enjoyed the stop at the American cemetery and the explanation he gave us of the fighting during WWII in the area. Our final stop at a small museum/house was the highlight of the tour and was not expected but should not be missed. If we are ever in Tunisia again, I will be checking to see if Noureddine is available.

If you are interested in a tour in Tunis, Noureddine is who you want to get! We visited many different sites both within Tunis and outside of Tunis. Noureddine is an outstanding historian that helps you have a much better understanding of the relatively complex history and culture of Tunisia. We encountered a few other tour groups when we were with Noureddine and it was quite clear that Noureddine was very highly respected among the other tour guides. It was an amazing tour!
