Taha-B is a super guide. He could not have been a more knowledgeable host in touring historic Tunisia. During our seven hours together Taha never stopped explaining and fascinating us in his impeccable English. He managed the uncanny feat of being equally attentive and enjoyable for both my two twenty-something kids and to me as an endlessly questioning historian. Taha and his kind and watchful driver were careful to draw out what interested us most. They put together an air-conditioned tour of Carthage, La Goulette, Sidi Bou Said, and the spectacular coastline. We were treated to both the Pyrrhic and Roman ruins, great views, fabulous houses and gardens, and rich explanations of Tunisian history and culture from the ancients to the current political economy. Taha was also generous and helpful in suggesting additional places to visit, restaurants, and obscure landmarks to experience during the time we had in Tunis after his wonderful tour. Taha was smart, funny, warm, and stunningly educated in all matters Tunisian. He is a kind man with insight and understanding. Our Saturday introduction to the history, art, architecture, customs, and rarities of Tunisia, past and present, will never be forgotten. Anyone visiting amazing Tunis would be more than lucky to find themselves in the hands of Taha B.
