Hi, I'm Yazid, a Licensed National Tour Guide and driver, with almost 2 decades of experience. I know my country very well. I'm very active, open minded and friendly. I'm flexible to all kinds of traveller requests and like to be helpful to every visitor. I do thematic tours for travellers seeking for special things, to discover the hidden gems of Tunisia. Working as a private tour guide makes me able to help travellers unveiling the true culture of my country, by meeting locals and sharing human experiences. I also enjoy sharing entertaining moments and discussing history & art. I very much like to know about other cultures and civilizations besides our own. Besides history and culture, I also facilitate trekking, hiking and biking tours, as well as activities such as photography and gastronomy. I always try to help travellers to materialize their dream experiences, discovering new things, and making their trip to Tunisia unforgettable. Tunis University National Licensed Tour Guide availed by Tunisia's Tourism Office Professional Driving License 15+ Years of Experience Im not permitted to guide in italian language .

Let's venture into the former Uthinae, nowadays Oudna, an old roman colony from the ancient Numidia Kingdom in Africa, as reflected by its name. This Carthaginian city reached its apex during the Roman Empire and it was one of the first roman colonies in the African continent. Roman veterans and Horatian soldiers (from one of the 35 Servian thrives of ancient Rome) established themselves in the city and started the romanization of the territory. With its fertile grounds and beautiful countryside, Uthina it is also one of the most wonderful archaeological sites in Tunisia, not far away from the city of Tunis (about 25 km). On this tour we'll explore remains that date back to the Punic wars between Carthage & Rome, such as the largest house of Uthina (more than 20 romes!) We'll be seeing very well preserved monuments, an amphitheater, the Capitol, public baths & we could even visit underground houses people used to live in.
•After picking you up from an arranged spot, we'll begin our tour driving 25 km to the south east of Tunis. •We'll then pass by the amphitheatre, a beautiful monument built by the Uthinsis. •Next, we'll head to the Capitol, one of the biggest in the roman empire, built in the 2nd century, used until the byzantine Era as a church. It has 3 floors, dominating the small hill it is on! •We'll continue to the public water tanks and the public baths. •Afterwards, we'll pass by the beautiful house of Ikarios to admire the wonderful mosaics. •The last landmark we'll visit will be the Laberii baths, with the stunning pool and latrines decorated with mosaics and marble. •At last, I'll drive you back to the place where we started from.
