Buenos días a todos! I am Gerardo. Born in sunny Puglia, Italy, I have loved traveling and foreign languages as soon as I got out of the cradle. I lived in the U. S. A. as an exchange student and then in Japan for three years, working as a teacher. After a master's degree in Languages and Civilizations at the Univerisity of Venice, I tried my luck in the publishing and media industry but I soon realized office life was not for me. Eventually, I studied in order to get a Tour Director official licence and from then on I have been working as a Tour Manager all over Europe, particularly in Spain and Italy. Then Valencia captured my heart and after all this traveling I decided this was going to be my new home, so I studied hard to get my Local Guide license and finally succeeded. Since 2016 I am a certified Local Guide of the region of Valencia, a place I will make sure you will fall in love with. Having lived abroad and being a foreigner myself I know what makes your eyes sparkle and how to make you feel comfortable out of you comfort zone. Besides traveling, my other passions are history and anthropology. During my tours I always try to put a particular emphasis on this subjects but don't worry, this is not a boring lecture, you are going to get immersed in an entertaining and engaging way so that you will end up asking for more! Even your kids will love it. At the end, history is the greatest fun ever if you know how to tell it. Valencia is a city full of heritage that is still under the radar. We will discover the Roman life, the Moorish legacy and then we will go through the Middle Ages and the Modern era. Of course, we will also soak ourselves in the sci-fi, futuristic, ultra-contemporary architecture for which Valencia is known all over the world. Whether you are a history buff or just want to relax while enjoying a beautiful city with your family I'll be here for you with a "hand knitted" tailored tour that will best suit your needs: you tell me what you like, the time you have and we will design the tour together. Overview of your Valencia tour
This is a fantastic way to time-travel through the history of Valencia in so little time! We will retrace the steps of the Romans as they settled in the city by visiting one of the most important archeological sites of Europe. Then, we'll observe the transition from Gothic to Baroque, passing through the Renaissance as we visit the Cathedral and its jewel: the Holy Grail. We'll reach the XXth Century admiring the most beautiful examples of Modernista architecture, Art Nouveau with its own unique personality. As we approach the contemporary era, we'll discuss about the troubled civil war and how it affected the life of the people of Valencia and its role as capital of the Republic. Last stop: the Future. We'll wander through the astonishing, jaw-dropping complex of the City of Arts and Sciences that inspired sci-fi settings in films and tv series. Just make sure your camera has extra batteries and memory cards, you might run out of them!

Gerardo is a wonderful and friendly guide. He showed us the little details and background stories you will not find yourself! We started the tour in the city center, saw the market, old roman walls and finished in the science are. Very interesting!

Happy to recommend Gerardo’s tour. We spent a lovely 4 hours covering Valencia’s landmarks both old (e.g., Roman ruins, Cathedral, Silk Exchange) and new (Calatrava).
