Hi! My name is David and I am a licensed local guide. I am a passionate of history and gastronomy, with huge experience in Wine Tourism. I love music and play my guitar (anyone from my reduce collection). I love to spend my free time and holidays travelling and visiting new places. If you want to spend a day in the city wandering and visiting the most important and impressive places in Valencia I reccommend you Highlights of Valencia. You will visit the old city and you will travel through the history to the Ancient Rome, Middle Age and the Contemporary history with the fottsteps of the Spanish Civil War. Learn about the most important authors and artists from here as Sorolla, Blasco Ibáñez, Ausiàs March or Benlliure. If you want a little bit of Nature, I reccommend you the Albufera Tour. A day tour at the Natural Park of the Lagoon. Learn about the rice production, birds and the most traditional and international Spanish dish, Paella. Other alternative will be visiting Sant Josep Caves and do a visit of the important Roman city of Sagunto, were the Second Punic War started betweel Cataginean army led by Hanibbal and Rome. Go back a thousand years to the dark times of the plague. Welcome to Valencia and its troubled past. Before the Inquisition arrived to Spain in the 15th century, Valencia was a city where Muslims, Jews and Christians lived together inside the medieval walls. They shared the streets, the market and the University. Walk by the medieval streets of Valencia while you hear the stories of one of the most important humanist born in Spain, who had to migrate due the persecution to the Jews. Or what would have happened if Luis Santángel, a Valencian converted Jew would never have lent money to the Queen Isabel for Columbus first trip? And if you are literature fans: do you think Cervantes would have written El Quijote if Joan Martorell would never have written Tirant Lo Blanch? Your Valencia tour itinerary
-Walking tour around the old town of Valencia discovering the different parts fo the city during the different periods of Middle Age. -We will start the tour in the city center of Valencia, at Plaza de la Virgen unless you require a pick up at your accommodation/Cruise port or airport. -Explore the Muslim Valencia walking by the Muslim Walls. -Then we will visit some of the most important Christian buildings from the Reconquest such as Torres de Serranos or the Cathedral. -We will talk aout the Valencian Literature Golden Century and the arrival of the Print in the city. -At the Cathedral main entrance we will immerse in the Jewry to talk about some of the most important Valencian Jews in the Middle Age such as the humanist Lluis Vives. -Also we will walk by the memories of the main Jew buildings as the disappeared Main Synagoge or the Baths. -We will visit the Old Valencia University -Next, we finish the tour at the Silk Exchange Market, UNESCO World Heritage to talk about the Silk Road.
