Welcome! My name is Benito. I am Spanish; born in Tarragona, a city of great cultural interest founded in Roman times, and I grew up in Valencia, where I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Art History. In 2014, I moved to Finland, where I lived for eight years. During my stay in the Nordic country, I had time to obtain my bus driver's license, Finnish nationality, and the title of official guide, allowing me to develop my work both in Helsinki and Valencia. I have always been passionate about art, architecture, geography, and history, as well as the curious events of life. For that reason, I chose to work as a guide, since it is a job that brings together all my passions. I have been working as a tour guide since 2020, first in Helsinki and now in Valencia since 2022. I would be happy to show you this beautiful city. If you have any special requests, the tour can be adapted to your expectations. As I already mentioned, Valencia is the place where I grew up. Its extensive gastronomy, charming streets in the city center, the amalgamation of cultures that have shaped it since its foundation in 138 B.C., its beaches, and its more than 300 sunny days make the terraces fill with people enjoying drinks or food, giving the city a bustling and dynamic character that makes it a perfect place to spend the holidays. The guided tours I provide are safe, I continuously encourage interactions so that travellers feel comfortable asking any questions that may arise. Our paths would be either on foot or by bicycle whenever possible, minimizing environmental impact. Additionally, all our routes will be complemented with curiosities, anecdotes, and additional information about all the remarkable things we encounter along the way. I assure you that you will leave with a greater understanding of the city, the country, the culture, and its people. Are you ready to discover Valencia? Let’s go! 2020 - Certificate in Professional Qualification in Guiding Services - Perho Business School, Helsinki, Finland 2011 - Five-year Degree in Art History - Universidad de Valencia, Spain

Did you know that there was a concentration camp in the heart of Valencia? Even if you don't have much time in the city, you’ll quickly realize that squares serve as nerve centres where political, economic & religious powers converge. Imposing towers & temples of various styles, from Romanesque to Baroque, will amaze you. You’ll also be surprised by the origin and essence of Las Fallas (Valencia's most important festival), as well as the Tribunal de las Aguas (oldest European court). Together, we'll stroll through where the city was founded, visit Valencia's geographic centre & what was Europe's narrowest house. I'll also share some incredible stories with you, like the one of the first woman executed for being transgender, the recycling of gravestones as a construction method & the attempted scam to avoid paying for the stairs of a bell tower. I personally enjoy using humor to make the tour more dynamic & fun. You won’t regret optimizing your visit by seeing more in less time with a local expert!
Our usual Itinerary (subject to changes depending on weather conditions, holidays, and events) would be as follows: ·We'd begin by meeting at the Serranos Towers, the main entrance to the city. ·Afterwards, we'll reach Plaza de la Virgen, the historical origin of Valencia. ·Later, we'll head to Plaza de la Reina. ·Next, we'll reach Plaza Redonda, the geographical centre of the city. ·Our last stop will be at the Market Square, where we'll take the opportunity to explore the Valencian commercial district dating back to Muslim times, surrounded by the Silk Market, the Central Market (the largest European fresh produce market), and the Parish Church of Santos Juanes.
