Hola! I'm Maria Antonietta, I'm Italian, and come from the beautiful island of Sardinia, in the center of the Mediterranean, where I completed my University studies in of Cultural Heritage. After spending a few months in Ireland, I decided to return to Sardinia to work as a receptionist in a four-star hotel in a seaside town. Although I liked the job, I felt that it wasn't exactly what I wanted to do. My idea was to become a tour guide to help making the island better known, so I took a course and then the exam to obtain the tour guide license in 2015. My passion is traveling and during one of my trips I visited Valencia which immediately made me feel at home. The city won me over with its architecture, its liveliness, and the kindness of its inhabitants so I thought about moving. I took "the big step" in 2019, I completed a Master's Degree in Cultural Heritage at the University of Valencia and I asked for the recognition of the title of tourist guide to be able to work. And here I am, happy with my choice! During the guided tour, I try to convey my passion for the work I do and for this wonderful city that has so much to offer. It can offer you a pleasant walk through history, from the Roman period, through the fascinating Islamic period, of which numerous traces can still be seen, the Middle Ages up to modern-day Valencia, with its festivals and traditions. Whether you are a lover of history and architecture or simply want to enjoy the city in total relaxation, I am here to guide you. If you prefer a customized experience, contact me and I will create a tailor-made tour for you. I am sure Valencia will conquer you too! Member of the Official & Licensed Local Tour Guides Association in the Valencian Community (AGOCV) Master's Degree in Cultural Heritage - University of Valencia I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

If you want to visit Valencia's main attractions from the inside, this tour is for you! We'll visit the church of San Nicolás de Bari & San Pedro Mártir, a true hidden gem in the historic Carmen neighbourhood, with its approximately 2000 m2 of frescoes. Precisely because of these magnificent frescoes it is also called the Valencian Sistine Chapel, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On our tour, we'll visit the only building in the city to be included in UNESCO's list, being one of the most important buildings in the Valencian golden age: La Lonja de la Seda, a place where merchants carried out negotiations relating to their goods, especially silk. In addition to this, we'll visit the wonderful Cathedral dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, a mix of architectural styles that reflect its long construction and numerous changes it has undergone. Did you know that what is believed to be the Holy Grail is kept in the Cathedral? Yes, that's right, and I'll show it to you, unveiling its history.
·We will start by meeting at the Torres de Serranos. ·We'll later advance to the Palace of the Generalitat. ·Afterwards, we'll go on walking along Calle Caballeros, until we reach the church of San Nicolás de Bari & San Pedro Mártir, aka the Valencian Sistine Chapel. ·Later we will visit the Lonja de la Seda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the beautiful columns of its trading hall and its orange garden. ·Next, walking along Plaza del Mercado Central and Plaza de la Reina, we will arrive at the magnificent building of the Valencia Cathedral. ·We will then reach the Plaza de la Almoina where you'll be able to admire the archaeological remains of the first nucleus of the city founded by the Romans. ·The last stop of our tour will be Plaza de la Virgen, where I'll talk about the oldest justice institution in Europe: el Tribunal de las Aguas.
