Half Day Highlights of Albufera Lagoon from Valencia

Visit the heart of Valencia's gastronomy and a unique Natural Park in Spain, Albufera (Lagoon). Today you will discover the waterland were the rice (for the famous Paella) is grown and local fauna have created their own space. Albufera was declared in 1986 Natural Park in Valencia. Albufera seems magic while sailing on the lake. Albufera is the smell of paella cooked over a wood fire. Albufera are my memories as a child discovering the birds flying over the rice fields. The day will start visiting the bird observatory where, is possible (depends on the year time) to see flamingos, herons, storks or different kind of ducks. Some live there the whole year, but others just came to the lagoon to pair. Then you will learn about the rice and the local culture and traditions. Embark on a boat to do a tour on the lagoon, we will pass by some rice fields. Visit a typical "Barraca" (local farmers house) and conclude the Tour savoring a traditional valencian meal and paella (meal included).
