As a culture/nature tourist guide, I do not simply present facts/figures/attractions to my tourists - I tell a story and try to bring South African culture, society and nature alive to them! I was honoured to be named the Lilizela Awards 2016 Culture Guide of the Year for KwaZulu-Natal Province and was the first runner-up for the Lilizela Awards 2016 Culture Guide of the Year for South Africa. My passion for tourism was ignited from an early age, when as a young boy I would often accompany my father (also a tourist guide) on his many travels throughout South Africa. This passion has evolved over the past 30 years, as I have worked in the industry on a more professional level as a tour manager for Gate 1 Travel and Collette Tours in South Africa/Botswana/Zimbabwe, as well as a national tourist guide/coach driver, tour manager and route planner for major South African tour operators (handling their national tours for SAGA, Travelsphere, Globus, Cosmos Archers and Titan). I also handled many of their contracts with local and international VIPs. In addition to my day tours in Durban and the KwaZulu-Natal Province, I am also very willing to undertake overnight stays to any national South African tourist destination, including Swaziland and Lesotho. I am able to manage any group size, nationality and age. Winner of the South African Lilizela Awards 2016 Culture Guide of the Year for KwaZulu-Natal Province; First Runner-up for the South African Lilizela Awards 2016 Culture Guide of the Year for South Africa; CASTHETA National Tourism (Level 4) Certificate; Drum Beat Academy National Guide (Culture/Nature) Certificate; Chairman of the e-Thekwini Regional Tourist Guides Association and frequent observer at committee meetings of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Tourist Guides' Association; Former Chairman of the SODURBA Community Tourism Organisation; Delegate/route advisor for the East3Route expedition to KwaZulu-Natal Province/ Mozambique/Swaziland from 2012 to 2014; Former independent assessor on the SATOUR Guide Evaluation Panel.

This tour is a nature-lover's dream! Enjoy a ferry cruise on Lake St Lucia for your visit to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park - South Africa's first UNESCO World Heritage Site. This park covers an area of 3280 square kilometres and was established in 1895. See large numbers of hippo, crocodiles, pelicans, heron and fish eagle in their natural habitat. You may also be lucky enough to view a leopard in a tree or elephant and giraffe come to drink. The Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Centre is a wildlife sanctuary for endangered cat species where injured or orphaned cat species are treated and rehabilitated, with a view to them being released back into the wild. Some of the wild cats housed at the centre include cheetah, African wild cat, cervils and karakuls. This tour is ideal for cruise passengers docked at Richards Bay Harbour.
Tourists departing from Durban will be informed of the departure time depending on the set time available for the ferry cruise on Lake Saint Lucia, which must synchronize with the tour times at the Emdoneni Centre. Therefore, either the visit to the Emdoneni Centre will be done prior or after the ferry cruise and vice versa. This is also applicable to tourists docked at Richards Bay Harbour. You will be informed of the departure time from the quayside depending on which cruise time can accommodate your group. Therefore the tour time could even be a little shorter than indicated.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
