As a culture/nature tourist guide, I do not simply present facts/figures/attractions to my tourists - I tell a story and try to bring South African culture, society and nature alive to them! I was honoured to be named the Lilizela Awards 2016 Culture Guide of the Year for KwaZulu-Natal Province and was the first runner-up for the Lilizela Awards 2016 Culture Guide of the Year for South Africa. My passion for tourism was ignited from an early age, when as a young boy I would often accompany my father (also a tourist guide) on his many travels throughout South Africa. This passion has evolved over the past 30 years, as I have worked in the industry on a more professional level as a tour manager for Gate 1 Travel and Collette Tours in South Africa/Botswana/Zimbabwe, as well as a national tourist guide/coach driver, tour manager and route planner for major South African tour operators (handling their national tours for SAGA, Travelsphere, Globus, Cosmos Archers and Titan). I also handled many of their contracts with local and international VIPs. In addition to my day tours in Durban and the KwaZulu-Natal Province, I am also very willing to undertake overnight stays to any national South African tourist destination, including Swaziland and Lesotho. I am able to manage any group size, nationality and age. Winner of the South African Lilizela Awards 2016 Culture Guide of the Year for KwaZulu-Natal Province; First Runner-up for the South African Lilizela Awards 2016 Culture Guide of the Year for South Africa; CASTHETA National Tourism (Level 4) Certificate; Drum Beat Academy National Guide (Culture/Nature) Certificate; Chairman of the e-Thekwini Regional Tourist Guides Association and frequent observer at committee meetings of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Tourist Guides' Association; Former Chairman of the SODURBA Community Tourism Organisation; Delegate/route advisor for the East3Route expedition to KwaZulu-Natal Province/ Mozambique/Swaziland from 2012 to 2014; Former independent assessor on the SATOUR Guide Evaluation Panel.

Why not mix a little culture with nature? Visit the replica of a Zulu village at PheZulu Cultural & Reptile Park and learn all about the traditional life and culture of this proud nation. Enjoy the vibrant dance show to the beat of the African drum and shop for some arts and crafts. Stroll along the adjacent reptile park to view the amazing snakes and crocodiles. Visit Tala Game Reserve and enjoy a game drive in my vehicle to view rhinoceros and various plains game (zebra, giraffe, gnu, impala, warthog, etc) and the abundant bird life. This tour is also ideal for cruise ship passengers docked at Durban Harbour.
I will meet you at the quayside at Durban Harbour or at the agreed meeting point at 08H00. We will then make our westwards and travel for about 1 hour. We arrive at Tala Game Reserve and enjoy game viewing in my closed vehicle for 2 hours. Thereafter, we will head to PheZulu Cultural and Reptile Park and have lunch (own account) at the restaurant on site and you will have some shopping time at the curio shop. Enjoy the cultural programme and learn all about Zulu culture and watch the spectacular Zulu dancing. Thereafter, we will stroll through the reptile park to look at the awesome crocodiles and snakes. Return to Durban Harbour or agreed drop-off point thereafter.
