Hi, I'm Don, a born-and-bred KwaZulu-Natal local and professional tour guide based in Durban, South Africa. I grew up enjoying the beaches around Durban and later in a small country town at the foot of the magnificent uKhahlamba Drakensberg Mountains. Sport, travel, people, nature, wildlife and local history have always been an important part of my life, and I have spent many years travelling extensively throughout South Africa, particularly my home province of KwaZulu-Natal. After many years in the business world, I decided there was more to life than meetings and deadlines and followed my passion into professional tour guiding. It was one of the best decisions I have made. For the past 16 years I have worked as a licensed local guide, leading countless day and multi-day tours throughout KwaZulu-Natal. What I enjoy most is meeting people from around the world and sharing not only the places I know so well, but also the history, stories, people and experiences that make them special. KwaZulu-Natal is an extraordinary part of South Africa. From Durban's warm Indian Ocean coastline and multicultural city life to the towering Drakensberg Mountains, historic Battlefields, Big Five wildlife reserves and the wetlands of St Lucia and iSimangaliso, the province offers an incredible variety of experiences. Having lived here all my life, I have walked, driven and explored these landscapes extensively. I have a particular passion for our history, wildlife and natural environment, and there is nothing I enjoy more than sharing my knowledge and love of KZN with visitors. My tours are private and personal, and I am always happy to adapt an experience around your interests, available time and the places you most want to discover. Whether your interests are history, wildlife, mountains, culture, Durban city life or a combination of them all, I would be delighted to help create a memorable KwaZulu-Natal experience for you. I look forward to welcoming you to my home province and showing you the KZN I know and love.
