Santiago de Queretaro from San Miguel

The city of Santiago de Queretaro preserves a very important quantity of historical buildings, that's why it was declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. We will travel through time to discover how was life during the colonial period, when the New Spain (Mexico) was ruled by the Spanish Kingdom. We'll see old convents and churches from the 17Th and 18Th century. The Independence war had its beginnings here, and we'll visit one of the houses where the conspirators had their meetings to plan a war against the Spanish Kingdom. See the place where Maximilian's the First (the emperor that came from Austria)court martial took place, sentenced to the death penalty by firing squad with his loyal general, Miguel Miramon and Tomas Mejia. They were executed in Cerro de las Campanas, a place that we will see during our tour. You can decide between the visit to the Regional Museum or the Art Museum, both located in former convents, that belonged to the Catholic Church. And we'll also visit the Convent of La Cruz.
