Working Neighborhoods in San Miguel Allende

One might say that I practically grew up in San Miguel Allende. It is where I learned to speak Spanish in my youth. My mother was an artist and every waking moment that I wasn't in school in Arizona, we were here! She painted and I studied Spanish at the Instituto Allende. We lived among the locals and submerged ourselves in the culture. I have seen the town grow. Progress changes everything yet San Miguel and its people have managed to preserve the essence of this treasure of a town. I have yet to meet a single person who once they have visited, hasn't returned. let me show you some of the not so well known places that still exist as they did 50 years ago, a different side of San Miguel.
