The Pearl of The Orient. . . Penang is situated on the north west of Peninsular Malaysia and it's sa mall island but you can find interesting & intriguing places. Penang was the first British Settlement in Malaya & it has flourished and thrived to became the busiest port in the region then. Penang is also well known for melting port for many type of ethnic groups with the most prominent trade which was spices; where the early Europeans paid dearly for these GREEN GOLD. British was the first who planted the nutmeg trees & followed by private planters who planted spices, nutmeg, clove, cardamon, chilli & pepper mostly on the western side of the island. The Hakka People came to Penang and planted our King Fruit, Durian and the Malay People paddy & fruit trees. The Pearl of The Orient is also able to boast of having the world's smallest National Park and also the world's largest Butterfly Farm (Entopia) which is the northern part of the island.
