Greetings from the beautiful island - Penang! Hi everyone! My name is Gary L. I have been guiding since 2008. Prior to my present career, I was involved in many industries such as education, marketing, publication, oil & gas training, manufacturing etc. Finally, at last I decided to venture myself into Tourism Industry in 2008 due to the huge number of tourists ever since Penang have been awarded by UNESCO as World Heritage Site on that year. I am registered tourist guide licensed under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Malaysia, currently a member of Penang Tourist Guides Association. I speak fluently in English, Malays, Chinese and local dialects, such as Hokkien & Cantonese. Being a host, I would be very glad to bring you around to experience the hospitality of the local people, the foods, the culture and tourist attractions in Penang. I am registered tourist guide licensed under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Malaysia. Advanced Diploma in Business Administration. (Association of Business Executives, United Kingdom). Former On-site Trainer for Exxon Mobil in 2003-2004. Permanent member of Penang Tourist Guide Association. Member of Penang Heritage Trust I am not a licensed nature guide but however I can conduct Botanical Garden tour.

Georgetown, Penang being inscribed as UNESCO world Heritage site since 7th July, 2008 was a melting pot of various culture since its establishment in 1786. The mixed-culture in Penang had since being a special unique culture that had existed and thus makes Penang as a center of trades and commerce. In particular , the capital of Georgetown named after His Majesty King George III , is better known as " Little London" by Rama V of the Kingdom of Siam. Penang is blessed with old buildings, clan houses, places of worships and food in particular, Penang cuisine is cherished by food lovers: don't miss the chance of tasting it!

Gary was friendly, knowledgeable, thoughtful, energetic, professional and fun! He communicated well with our party of 6 both before and during the tour of Georgetown. He tailored our tour to our interests and was mindful of the time we had. All of us enjoyed our day with Gary.
Very trustworthy tour guide. Gary know everything about Penang very well. He know where to find the best photo place / corner. I wanted to try the famous Air Itam Laksa but was closed. Opening hours is not accurate anymore. So depend on luck.He also know where to find local food food which is important for Singaporean who love GOOD FOOD too. There's so much things to do in Penang but too bad, 5-hours tour is not enough. I will definitely be back again and engage Gary as tour guide again if I come again
My husband and I had a great time on our tour with Gary! Gary was super knowledgeable answering all the questions we had, spoke fluent English and was very friendly. We went to Kek Lok Si Temple and many places to taste authentic Penang street food - Delicious! Gary's vehicle was nice and he prepared a delicious lemon grass juice blend for us before we met him, a nice surprise. We would highly recommend Gary to others that are thinking about visiting Penang!
