Fancy visiting an estuarine fishing jetty to buy the freshest seafood that is just landed from the fishing boats? Uniquely, price is set by whispering into the ears of the fisherman with your bid. The only place in Msia with this unique practise. Spend about 1 hour+ here observing, soaking in the vibrant ambience & bidding for the just landed catch with the locals & restauranteurs. Then take the winning lot to a local restaurant to hv it cook to perfection. . . . that will be lunch/meal of the day. You will be guided by me in all aspects of bidding, choices & finally in the cooking methods to fully enjoy the experiences. As a seasoned & experience food guide & food critique to some of Pg top chefs; I will guide you on the best local ways to enjoy the seafood you hv purchased. With the advent of popular online purchasing; this unique method may not withstand much chance of surviving into the future anymore. Another tradition that will be lost to commercialism & modernisation.
Your Penang tour itinerary
9. 30am : free pick up fr hotel at Georgetown, port or a place to be determine. 9. 50am : proceed to mainland Penang aka Butterworth via 1st Penang bridge. 10. 40am : proceed to fishing jetty through Malay villages, paddy fields & mangrove swamp. 11. 30am : arrive at fisherman jetty. 12. 10pm - 1pm : observe & bid for catch of the day. Whispering method. 1. 30pm : bring winning bid & fresh seafood to restaurant for late lunch. 2. 30pm : depart back to Penang island via 2nd longest bridge in SEA. 3. 30pm : back on Pg island with a unique memory & satiated stomach. Note : itineraries can be specially customised ( where applicable & possible ). Pls inquires ahead.
