Hello everybody, my name is Francesco. I'm a licensed tourist guide for the Campania Region. Local history is my great passion since I was a child and I feel lucky to have grown up in Torre Annunziata, a town by the sea in the middle of the amazing Bay of Naples, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius and just 5 minutes away from the ruins of Pompeii. I've been working giving tours for 18 years. After my studies, initially, I collaborated with some Mt. Vesuvius volcano guides, as a courier on a private bus with a private driver to pick up guests from different hotels and to lead them to the crater for a tour of the volcano. Later, I got the license as a local tourist guide and since then, every day I'm in a different fantastic place of the Campania Region: Pompeii, Herculaneum, Capri, Amalfi Coast, Mt. Vesuvius, Sorrento, Naples, Paestum, Phlegraean Fields. I have had a lot of experience leading shore excursions for cruise passengers and leading tours for families, couples and small parties. My tours are easy. I give all the historical, artistic and archaeological details but also information about food, customs and way of life of the locals. I also love telling anecdotes and funny stories related to the local history and traditions. Of course, you know that Italy is the country of the good food. Campania Region is popular for its specialities and no doubt everywhere we go I can recommend you a place "for locals" to let you taste the most typical delicacies. Also, I collaborate with local food and beverage producers to arrange demonstrations and cooking classes (for pasta, mozzarella cheese, wine, coffee, pizza, pastries, ice cream, olive oil, limoncello, etc. ). It's possible to customize the tours to your needs. Please, send me a message to let me know your requests and we can build up your tours together. I would like you will experience your tours in the Bay of Naples with me. Look forward to meeting you. Licensed Tourist Guide of Campania Region, Italy Master of European Studies, Camera di Commercio Belgo-Italiana and Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium Master Degree in Business Economics, Università degli Studi di Napoli "Parthenope", Italy I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Pompeii is the most important archaeological site in the world. An entire city completely preserved as it was in AD 79 when a tremendous eruption of the volcano Mt. Vesuvius buried it under a 25 feet deep layer of ash and lapilli. Pompeii is different from all the other archaeological sites you can visit. In Rome, in Greece, in Egypt, in Central America and in other amazing places all around the world you can find evidence of ancient civilizations, however, nowhere but Pompeii you can walk so ancient streets full of traces of life. You can enter the houses where people lived, the temples where they prayed, the places where they went for entertainment. You can see the tracks of their carts on the surface of streets, the piping of the public running water supply, the "petrified" bodies of the victims of the eruption. There is no dead city in the world pulsating so much life. After your tour in Pompeii, all the archaeological tours you'll do all around the world will not be the same.
The dimension of the site is impressive and we focus on the highlights to let you have an idea about the life in a Roman city in the 1st century AD. We go to see public buildings (theatres, temples, baths, etc. ), private houses and shops and the city centre. I'll explain what exactly happened in AD 79, how the city was rediscovered and above all how was the life of the citizens of Pompeii 2000 years ago. At the end of the tour if you want to spend some more time on your own in the archaeological area I'll give you suggestions and indications about what else interesting you can go to see.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
