Pompeii, a city frozen in time!

Once in town, you'll walk on the original roads made of volcanic rocks and you'll notice big blocks emerging from the road: they are stepping stones used by pedestrians to avoid getting wet when it rained. You'll see several shops on the streets with large vases built in a masonry counter: those are the Roman taverns, where very many ancient Pompeians would stop for lunch. You will see a bakery and by one of the main streets, you will find a thermal bath, where both men and women went for daily hygiene. From there we'll go to the city centre, called Forum, that hosts all the public buildings: temples, the market, offices. In the Forum you will also see examples of the famous human casts. Pompeii had three places for public performances: an outdoor theatre, an indoor theatre and a big amphitheatre for gladiators or beast fights and we'll visit at least one of those places. After the tour, you could stop for a few minutes for a refreshment or souvenirs shops
