Pompeii, a city frozen in time!

We had a great time exploring Pompeii with Lome. We did a 1.5 hour private tour for five of us, which was plenty of time to explore the city and learn so much. With Lome at the helm we were able to see many important, interesting parts of the city without having to worry about navigation. She was incredibly knowledgable and was happy to answer any additional questions we had about anything we saw. She pointed out various things we never would have noticed on our own and was also very funny, ensuring the tour was never boring. Instead it was a great balance of historical context, modern reflections on ancient life, interesting archaeological finds, and insights into the current maintenance of Pompeii and the ways tourism interacts with this. Lome spoke great English— she easily understood everything we asked her, explained things very clearly, and was very conversational in her approach. She demonstrated interest in who we were and why we had chosen to come to Pompeii and made sure that her tour reflected this back to us. Additionally, Lome was prompt in both her response time via text and on the actual day of. She was flexible about both timing, tour content, and meeting place. I would absolutely recommend a private tour with Lome and was only disappointed we weren’t able to tour her home city of Naples with her as well, as we ran out of time on our trip! If we are ever back in the area again, we will be sure to reach out… Thank you, Lome!

Lomè was an informative and fun guide. I would recommend her to anyone. I just wish we could have seen more of Pompeii. Many places have been closed off since COVID.

Lomè is an excellent guide! She has a very high level of education and has an enormous, immense knowledge of all that she shows you. She speaks excellent German and also other languages. She is also an incredibly charming and lovely person who is responsive to all of a client's questions and requests. We had a wonderful time with her. We would always and at any time book her again and can only recommend her wholeheartedly.

Lomé organized a customized and personalized tour for us; a a private driver, restaurant recommendation and wonderful, informative tour of Pompeii. Beginning in Ravello, Lomé coordinated a pickup with a friendly driver after suggesting a wonderful, local restaurant for lunch. Upon meeting us in Pompeii, it was clear Lomé was very well informed in the history, geology and sociological impacts of this amazing city. She encouraged and answered any questions we had and made the tour informative and fun.

It was a nice tour and we enjoyed it but definitely too expensive for what we got (225€ for 5 people and 2 hours was absolutely exaggerated for what we ended up seeing. And we paid the entry tickets separately which was another 80€ in total). Make sure you discuss the price before booking, don't just accept the offer like we did. Lome is lovely but she was tired and it seemed like she just wanted to get through it and get home.
