He sculpted the David when he was only 26 but he was already famous for his The Pietà in St Piter Cathedral, in Rome that he made at the age of 23. Leonardo Da Vinci, was so impressed when he saw the David, that suggested to the members of the Town Council to put it in front of the Palazzo Vecchio, in order to be seen by all: nowadays all world come to admire it inside the Accademia Gallery!

We will visit the museum where you'll be able to see some of the 30 shipwrecks found during the excavation works that took place from 1998 till 2015, 500 meters west of Cathedral Square.

This 3 hour walking tour will lead you to discover the wonderful Square of Miracles, also known as Piazza dei Miracoli or Piazza del Duomo, Pisa's most famous square. A grassy expanse hosts the city's cathedral complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes the Duomo, the Monumental Cemetery, the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo and the Leaning Tower.

Legend has it that you cannot climb the tower until you have obtained your degree. I am now a postgraduate (from the Faculty of Humanities and Art History) so I can go there whenever I'd like, but most importantly I can take tourists there with me too!

(Francesco Traini - St. Thomas Aquinas) The Dominicans were the "influencers" in the Pisa of the 1300. Their church, St. Catherine's, held masterpieces made of gold and luxurious clothes.

Francesco Traini was under the influence of the elegant Sienese style. His characters had delicate faces and were dressed with precious clothes.

(Simone Martini - St. Catherine of Alexandria) The exquisite saints depicted by Martini live in a world of courtly refinement and are dressed as the Sienese richest merchants and nobles.

Lippo Memmi - St. Andrew - Over the centuries the painters try to be more and more realistic. Even though, the goal of the Sienese school is to show beautiful and perfect characters.

The San Matteo Museum holds as well a small collection of Renaissance artists, such as Benozzo Gozzoli, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Masaccio, Michelozzo and Donatello.

Fra Angelico - Madonna dell'Umiltà - The Madonnas of the Quattrocento are light-skinned supernatural beauties of delicate manners.

Donatello - Reliquary of S. Rossore - An amazing gold bust performed by the great Donatello that changed the way reliquaries were done.

(Giunta Pisano - St. Francis) St. Francis lived for a while in Pisa, and the city was one of the first centers of the Franciscans. Giunta was able to combine the austerity of the "Poverello" and the majesty of one of the most influential saints in History.

Did you know that Pisa has the largest medieval art museum in Italy? It is a magical place, where it is possible to know the history of the evolution of Italian art since the early Middle Ages.

When I came here as a child, during a school trip, I was always amazed by the hall of painted crosses, I thought I was inside a painting myself. After a few rooms, among ancient paintings and jewels, I saw for the first time the statue of the Madonna del Latte by Andrea Pisano. It was a strong emotion for me. The lines, the glances between mother and child and that grimace on the face of the Madonna, as if the child was hurting her. Incredible. . .

Finally, the bust of San Lissorio, a masterpiece by the great artist Donatello.
