Buongiorno or Buonasera . . . . or just simply CIAO! Here I am! I'm Michela, a licensed tour guide of Pisa & Lucca! Whatever you'd like to know about these two cities, whatever you choose, whether it' one of my listed tours or, if you prefer, a customized one, I'll make sure you have a memorable and unique experience. Remember, after visiting Tuscany, you'll always keep a piece of this beautiful region in your hearts. So, a bit more about me: I live in a town called San Giuliano Terme, about 3 miles from the leaning tower of Pisa and 10 miles from Lucca. My town is famous for its thermal baths, and for being where the Grand Duke of Tuscany used to spend his summer holidays. I always loved travelling myself. I've been several times to the US. I actually lived in Boonton, NJ since I was 3 to 8 years old, and spent some years after that going there on vacation during my school summer break. In my 20s, I spent some time in New York City & San Francisco. Other than the US, I've traveled around Spain, Croatia, Germany, Holland, England, Corsica and in many other places around Italy. This is why I studied Travel & Tourism - I love visiting other countries, taking in their architecture and culture. Being a licensed Tour Guide, I have fun guiding & going all around with travellers: it's like being on vacation too! I really enjoy taking people around, fulfilling their curiosity about art history, architecture and the backstories Lucca and Pisa. I also love when I make travellers laugh and smile for the anecdotes I share as well as the fun facts I mention from the past, such as between the rival cities in Tuscany. When I visit a foreign country, I always want to visit it as a local. I obviously go see the highlights but I also try to find local events like local markets or local festivals. I am really interested in the traditions of other cultures, and that is what I want to do with my guests, try to transmit Italian culture and traditions as much as possible to them. So . . what else? . . . looking forward to meeting you! A presto, Michela I have a National Tour Guide License and a Tour Leader License, both achieved by successfully completing exams, released by the public institution of the Region of Tuscany. I am not a licensed driver. I can't drive my guests in my own car BUT I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. I am not permitted to guide in some private museums since they have their private guides.

Nestled in the Tuscany region of Italy, Pisa is a city where history, art, and vibrant local life come together along the banks of the Arno River. Best known worldwide for its iconic Leaning Tower, Pisa offers far more than its famous tilt. A visit typically begins at the breathtaking Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you’ll find the stunning Leaning Tower of Pisa, the elegant Pisa Cathedral (Duomo) with its Romanesque marble façade, the Baptistery, and the monumental Camposanto Cemetery. Beyond the square, Pisa reveals a more authentic and lively character. Stroll through its medieval streets, where historic palaces, charming cafés, and small boutiques line the way. Walk along the Arno River, crossed by picturesque bridges such as Ponte di Mezzo. With its rich heritage, and youthful energy from one of Italy’s oldest universities, Pisa is a city that invites visitors to slow down, explore, and discover beauty beyond its famous tower.
- Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles) and its monuments: Cathedral, Baptistry, Cemetry and the Leaning Tower. If you like we can also visit inside the cathedral. - We will then head down Via Santa Maria - Go down Via dei Mille - Stop at the beautiful medieval church San Sisto - We will then reach Piazza dei Cavalieri (Square of the knights) - After Piazza dei Cavalieri we will take Via San Frediano and reach one of the buildings that belong to the university of Pisa that is the Department of Law - Then pass by a medieval tower and get to the market square Piazza delle Vettovaglie - Head then to the city's north side main street Borgo Stretto where the 1500 scientist Galileo Galilei used to live - Then reach the Ponte di Mezzo - main bridge of the city that crosses the river Arno - Walk down the river north side which is enriched by many stunning palaces - Then we can either walk back to the Square of Miracles or I can bring you to a restaurant in case it is lunch time or dinner time.
