Ciao! I'm Alessandro and I'm a local tourists guide of Pisa, Lucca and Volterra since 2008, but everyone here calls me Ale. My country is my passion and a treasure that wants to be discovered and I'm here to let you dive into my world. I was born in Pisa and grew up in an XII century tower, spending my childhood in the surroundings of the Leaning Tower. My parents have been the first tourists guides I have evere had and they taught me that even an empty wall could be an open book to read. I'm a theatrical actor, since I was 11 and I have a degree in foreign languages (English, Spanish and Romanian) and a specialization in medieval art. It will be a privilege to show you my city, my traditions, to make you feel home, leaving everything behind. We can work together to create your perfect tour. On my favorite book, The legend of 1900, you can read this: "You're never really done for, as long as you've got a good story and someone to tell it to". I really believe it and I'll tell you all the stories I have learnt. Ready? Andiamo! (let's go!) Alessandro - Professional local guide for Pisa and its Province - Province of Pisa Adm. - Professional tour leader for Italy - Municipality of Lari (Pisa) - Tourist marketing expert - Progetto Trio - recognized by the Region Tuscany Adm. - University Degree in foreign Languages and medieval Art (Italian, English, Spanish, Romanian) - Theatrical and cinematographic studies - Pisa guided books author - Marchetti ed. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Overview of your Pisa tour

Pisa is a city with a thousand faces. The leaning tower is just one of them. The medieval center reveals a calm soul, enriched by the colors of the university students, by the flavors of the ancient markets, by the artisan shops. Walking through the streets of Pisa is like reading an ancient book, with large pages and lively illustrations. Let's find out together, I will take you to the places of my childhood, through colorful alleys and squares: you will fall in love with it!

The Best Guide We Could Have Asked For! Ale made our day in Pisa one of the highlights of our entire trip to Italy. He is the consummate professional and an extraordinarily knowledgeable expert. Having authored several books on Pisa—many of which are available for purchase in the official museum gift shops—his depth of knowledge is truly remarkable. Yet what impressed us most was his ability to make history engaging, fun, and relevant for our entire family of six, including our teenagers. He brought Pisa’s history, architecture, art, and culture to life through captivating stories and fascinating insights that kept everyone fully engaged. It genuinely felt like we were exploring the city with the Mayor of Pisa, as staff at the museums and historic sites greeted him warmly and were genuinely delighted to see him. His passion for Pisa is infectious, and his storytelling is second to none. If you want more than a tour—if you want an unforgettable experience—book Ale without hesitation. He is simply exceptional.

Alessandro was fantastic! We came thinking the tower was going to be the main focus, but in reality he made the city Pisa our favorite tour of the week. It was a most enjoyable experience.

Many Americans I spoke with said Pisa is just the leaning tower and everything else is boring and should be skipped. A few hours with Alessandro showing us some of the hidden details in the city made it one of my favorite stops in all of Italy. Anyone going there that does not want to be bored should book a tour with him.

Alessandro is a native of Pisa and you can tell that his love for this city he is excited to share. We arranged a "customized" trip from Florence and took the train. We are a family of four with college aged kids who wanted to see the Tower of Pisa as well as the Basilica. But, we also enjoyed combining this with some local spots for light fare, drinks, gelato. He did an awesome job with the history and arranging our tour. He was very kind and thoughtful…Not rehearsed like some! We highly recommend him!

A perfect chance to peruse Pisa. Alessandro's a warm and welcoming Guide; it's obvious he loves his city. Energetic and curious, he led us through town sharing secrets, sampling treats and seeing special sites and ultimately a chance to climb the famous tower. He is smart helping us understand the culture of his city. He is quite funny and he is kind, introducing us to friends and colleagues along the Tour. It was like visiting town with a good friend. This is how to see Pisa.
