Hi everyone! My name is Martina and I am an enthusiastic art historian, with an M. A. degree from the University of Pisa. Thanks to my passion for art, architecture and local history, since 2007 I have been working as a Licensed Tour Guide and Tour Director in Tuscany and Cinque Terre. The perfect way to spend a day in Tuscany: join a private walking tour of Pisa and Lucca with Martina. In the morning she will guide you around the symbols of the wealthy Maritime Republic of Pisa: the world famous Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, the Baptistery and Camposanto (graveyard), which stand out in the 'Field of Miracles'. After a delicious lunch in a family run Trattoria, you will travel (by train - your car/ private transportation) to the charming walled city of Lucca. Martina will guide you throughout narrow lanes and alleys while discovering its treasures - the Cathedral with the intriguing Volto Santo and the marble sarcophagus of Ilaria del Carretto; St. Michael Church, the Roman Amphitheatre Square, Giacomo Pucccini's birthplace, the awesome garden of Palazzo Pfanner, San Frediano Church and the amazing Renaissance walls. Last but not least, she will introduce you to Lucca's typical products, arts and crafts!
Martina will meet you in Pisa, by the main arch way to the Square of Miracles. Delightful walking tour around the Duomo (Cathedral); Baptistery with its fabulous acustics, Camposanto (graveyard) and the Leaning Tower (Martina will be happy to book the tickets in advance, according to your will). Delicious lunch in a no turistic Tuscan Trattoria where they serve home made pasta. Transfer to Lucca: after a brief introduction, you will get on the Renaissance walls; then walk down to the Duomo and discover its treasures. Then, you will proceed through its charming lanes and alleys stopping at highlights and off the beaten-path sights, including the opera composer Giacomo Puccini's birthplace, the Roman Amphitheate Square and Guinigi Tower with oak trees on the top. While touring Martina will provide you details about the history, traditions, legends and typical products of Lucca!
