This is a private and relaxed Etna experience that combines an easy walk through extinct volcanic craters with authentic village stops focused on local food and everyday life. After pickup from your hotel or cruise port, we head toward Mount Etna to explore Monti Sartorius, a scenic area formed by an eruption in the 19th century. Here we enjoy an easy walk suitable for all, ideal for discovering extinct craters, solidified lava flows and Etna’s unique volcanic landscape, surrounded by endemic Birch forest and open views. What makes this experience special is the connection with local villages. During the day, we stop in small, authentic towns at the foot of the volcano, where Etna life still follows a slower rhythm. We take time to enjoy traditional Sicilian pastries and street food, freshly prepared in well-known local spots, in a simple and genuine atmosphere. The pace of the tour is unhurried and personal, focused on sharing Etna through nature, villages and local flavors.
What a great day! Vincenzo was very professional, the van was clean and modern with WiFi, however, we didn’t use it as we were taking in all views. Vincenzo, took us to Milo on the way to Mount Etna, where we had a local snack and wine from the Mount Etna Area. Vincenzo has such a great knowledge of the area, we learned so much on our short hike to see Mount Etna. Highly recommend this tour.
Vincenzo is an amazing guide! He had considerable knowledge of Mt Etna and volcanoes in general. A native Sicilian, his knowledge of the surrounding area was incredibly comprehensive and helpful to us through our exploration. He’s friendly, polite and very kind. His love for his environment was palpable as he talked about the indigenous plants and trees. My only regret is that we didn’t have more time to go on additional tours with Vincenzo!
Vincenzo clearly loves his guide work, his village, and Mount Etna. He picked us up early in Catania. When we expressed that we’d not yet had breakfast, he drove us to Molo, his village for the traditional summer granita and brioche. We still got to the northern trials early and beat the crowds. Plus he shared all his insights on the geological aspects. You are on your own in Taormina but the sights and signs there are clearly marked.
Vincenzo was an awesome guide on our trip to Mt. Etna and Taormina. He was punctual, very knowledgeable about volcanos and the area, and flexible to accommodate our preferences. He is a safe driver and his van is very comfortable. We never felt rushed and he always took time to courteously answer our questions. We would highly recommend him.
