Day Trip to Mount Etna and Taormina from the harbour of Catania

We had an absolutely wonderful experience on this tour—truly one of the best days of our entire trip. The van was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, which made a big difference since we covered quite a bit of ground. Our driver was excellent—safe, smooth, and professional—and we always felt well taken care of throughout the day. Our guide, Chiara, was an absolute pro. She is incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much fascinating information about Mount Etna, the surrounding villages, and Taormina. You can tell she really loves what she does—she made everything engaging, easy to understand, and fun. She also did a fantastic job pacing the day so it never felt rushed. We especially appreciated how attentive and accommodating she was to our group, making sure everyone was comfortable and able to enjoy each stop at a relaxed pace. This meant a lot to us, as my mom has some walking limitations, and Chiara was very thoughtful in planning the day around that. The walk in Taormina was perfect for her—easy, enjoyable, and still allowed us to take in the beauty of the town without feeling overwhelmed. The visit to Mount Etna was unforgettable—the landscape is unlike anything we’ve ever seen—and Chiara brought it to life with her explanations. Taormina was equally beautiful, and we had just the right amount of time to explore, enjoy the views, and have lunch. This tour was so interesting from start to finish, and it struck the perfect balance between sightseeing, learning, and simply enjoying the experience. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sicily—Chiara made it truly special.

Chiara was such an amazing guide! We had such a great day, she is extremely knowledgeable and fun. We loved seeing Mt Etna, and Taormina was one of my favorite places we have been to so far! It was a perfect day!

Our day from beginning to end was outstanding due to Chiara's knowledge and enthusiasm for sharing the magic first of Mt. Aetna and then on to Taormina where not only did she show us the most stunning views of the town and had tastings of the best canolo and pistachio liquor, but a full historical accounting of what it was like at the amphitheatre is days of old. She is straight forward, kind and fun!

This is such a beautiful area and touring with Chiara was the perfect way to optimize the time we had during our cruise ship stop. Chiara is understandably passionate about this area, and her enthusiasm came through as she explained the volcanic history of the area during our trip to Mt. Etna, and showed us the most spectacular views of Taormina.
