Hello, Welcome to Aurangabad !! My name is Tajinder S Gulati, and I am a native of Aurangabad. I have lived here most of my life. I work as a Tour guide (Platinum card holder) approved by the Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Government of India and have over three decades experience of guiding tourists around the world famous World Heritage Monuments of Ajanta & Ellora caves. I am a Masters in Business Administration and have gone through extensive Guides' Training Program conducted by the Department of Tourism, Government of India. I have consistently given services to renowned Travel Companies and I am also on the shortlisting panel of guides for the prestigious and luxurious Train. I love traveling and am well traveled in India and abroad. I love to interact with my travelers on various subjects of History, Culture, Traditions, Religion, Art, Crafts and many more. My hobbies are traveling, watching movies & interaction with people from around the world. Apart from the Ajanta and Ellora caves, which I love to show and guide, I also intimately know Aurangabad as a city and can help you explore it like a local. As a tourist in India you would have explored the bigger cities and their monuments. As a local Aurangabadian, I can help you not only absorb the history and beauty of the centuries-old Ajanta and Ellora caves, but I can also help you understand the culture and life of a satellite city of India. If you look at my picture, you can see that I am wearing a turban. This turban has a story to tell. This represents the fact that I belong to the Sikh community and religion. The turban represents spirituality, honor, piety, and courage. I can share with you much more about this if you are interested. If you choose me to be your guide, rest assured, that you will get to know my city and the monuments in a way that will be memorable. Look forward to meeting you and showing you around Tajinder Licensed and Approved, Incredible India TouristGuide - Department of Tourism, Government of India. Ellora caves are one of the most visited ancient monuments in India and also one of the top Tourist places in Maharashtra. Adorned with beautiful sculptures Ellora caves are an amalgamation of Buddhist, Hindu and Jain monuments. The cave temples and monasteries at Ellora are excavated out of the vertical face of an escarpment. Extending in a linear arrangement, the 34 caves contain Buddhist chaityas or halls of worship, Viharas or monasteries and Hindu and Jain temples. Spanning a period of about 600 years between the 6th and 12th century A. D. the most imposing excavation is without a doubt that of the magnificent Kailasa Temple which is the largest monolithic structure in the world. Another beautiful monument in the city of Aurangabad is the Bibi-Ka-Maqbara which is the copy of the Taj Mahal of Agra. Also known as the Taj of Deccan, it is the tomb of Dilras Banu Begum, wife of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
A fully escorted private tour that includes my services as a tour guide, air-conditioned Toyota Crysta or similar car. Be picked up from your hotel at 9:00 am. From there your journey to the Ellora caves will be about 30 km and will take around 1 hour each way. On the way to the caves stop at the magnificent 12th Century Daulatabad Fort for photographs at a point where you will get the best views of the fort. You will be briefed about the history and the fortifications around the fort for a good 10 minutes. On reaching Ellora begin the sightseeing of the caves understanding and appreciating the rock-cut marvels of the three religions - Buddhist, Hindu & Jain. It's time for lunch/light snacks (not included in the tour price). On return journey proceed to the Bibi-Ka-Maqbara in Aurangabad city itself, and enjoy moving around the copy of Taj Mahal, and getting to know its history in detail. Return back to the hotel/dropped at the airport IMPORTANT NOTE: ELLORA CAVES ARE CLOSED ON TUESDAYS
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
For a group of 1 to 4 people, I use only Toyota Innova or similar as they are clean, modern, air-conditioned with sufficient legroom and space for people of height and girth and good ground clearance to give you a smooth ride. I also have different options for larger groups, which come at a higher cost. Contact me for a quote.
