Overview of your Aurangabad tour

Ellora caves are one of the most visited ancient monuments in India and also one of the top Tourist places in Maharashtra. Adorned with beautiful sculptures Ellora caves are an amalgamation of Buddhist, Hindu and Jain monuments. The cave temples and monasteries at Ellora are excavated out of the vertical face of an escarpment. Extending in a linear arrangement, the 34 caves contain Buddhist chaityas or halls of worship, Viharas or monasteries and Hindu and Jain temples. Spanning a period of about 600 years between the 6th and 12th century A. D. the most imposing excavation is without a doubt that of the magnificent Kailasa Temple which is the largest monolithic structure in the world. Another beautiful monument in the city of Aurangabad is the Bibi-Ka-Maqbara which is the copy of the Taj Mahal of Agra. Also known as the Taj of Deccan, it is the tomb of Dilras Banu Begum, wife of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

My second day with Tajinder couldn't be more perfect. At the Elora Caves, he eloquently described the history of the three religions (Jain, Hindu, and Budha). He even detailed nearly all of the carvings in the Kailash Temple, the most impressive one. A few hours before my flight, he invited me over for tea at his house, where I met his wife. They were quite courteous to me, and she even provided me the seasonings that I had inquired about during our lunch at the restaurant! Best experience ever.

Tajinder was truly amazing. I have had many guides around the world and he was truly, very knowledgeable, experienced and courteous. He even welcomed me at the airport with necklace of flowers. Amazing. His driver was the best, the vehicle was very clean and had plenty of room and plenty of water and snacks were provided. We enjoyed an incredible tour of the three sections of Rock cut temples at Ellora and then we saw the Mini Taj in Aurangabad. I could not recommend him highly enough

Tajinder S. Gulati is an excellent tour guide. We went on two different full day tours with him. We were 100% satisfied. Tajinder is very knowledgeable. His tours include a comfortable air conditioned private car and driven, that is also safe & efficient. In addition to Ellora you can customised the rest of the tour to visit what suits you. For example we visited a craft hand weaving micro factory that had local textiles of the highest quality. 5 stars. We would book again in the future. Thank you!

We spent two wonderful days with Mr. Gulati, exploring the Ellora and Ajanta caves, as well as the Daulatabad Fort. He worked with us in advance of the tour to exchange ideas and to customize our experience. He was prompt, professional and extremely knowledgeable, and he took great care to ensure that all of our needs were met, with thoughtful attention to every detail. Your Aurangabad tour itinerary

A fully escorted private tour that includes my services as a tour guide, air-conditioned Toyota Crysta or similar car. Be picked up from your hotel at 9:00 am. From there your journey to the Ellora caves will be about 30 km and will take around 1 hour each way. On the way to the caves stop at the magnificent 12th Century Daulatabad Fort for photographs at a point where you will get the best views of the fort. You will be briefed about the history and the fortifications around the fort for a good 10 minutes. On reaching Ellora begin the sightseeing of the caves understanding and appreciating the rock-cut marvels of the three religions - Buddhist, Hindu & Jain. It's time for lunch/light snacks (not included in the tour price). On return journey proceed to the Bibi-Ka-Maqbara in Aurangabad city itself, and enjoy moving around the copy of Taj Mahal, and getting to know its history in detail. Return back to the hotel/dropped at the airport IMPORTANT NOTE: ELLORA CAVES ARE CLOSED ON TUESDAYS
