An experienced tour leader and professional car driver, I have been living and working in Santorini for 10 years, now. Also, being born and raised in a Greek island, it wasn't hard for me to understand and feel the authentic atmosphere of my surroundings from the very beginning. In my first professional steps, I chose to be a driver in some of the biggest travel agencies of the island. These years were the most important ones in my career, although I couldn't realize that back then, for they gave me a full picture of the streets and driving rules in a place with thousands of visitors arriving every day (especially during the summer season). Later, I started leading small and bigger groups around the island, following a specific itinerary and time schedule that was given by the agencies. I was feeling so scared and thrilled at the same time. Scared because I had to face big responsibilities, but also thrilled because I had finally found my dream job. Since then, I have been working day and night, discovering every important, new or secret spot, activity, taste and view that could best represent the "real" Santorini. Even now, being the owner and designer of my tours and services, I still feel the same enthusiasm every time I welcome a new guest in Santorini. Most of them say that they can feel this enthusiasm. This express private tour is meant for beer lovers who come to Santorini with a desire to taste and get acquainted with everything involved in beer production. This consists of a visit to 2 breweries of the island: Santorini Brewery Company and Ftelos Brewery. On the one hand, SBC is the first and oldest brewery of the island. Located in the Exo Gonia area, it was founded in 2011 by a group of people from different nationalities & professions, whose love for beer brought them together. Here is the place where the famous "Donkey" of Santorini is produced, sold and exported. On the other hand, FTELOS is new in town! This modern brewery produces exquisite artisanal beer, using signature local ingredients. It is nearly 4, 800m2, including the production facilities, two beer-themed restaurants, and two tapas bars. Paying tribute to local history, FTELOS has named its beer: the Blue Monkey. This local beer experience will surely get you full of tastes and memories of Santorini!
Your Santorini tour itinerary
· After a hotel pickup, our first stop will be to Santorini Brewery Company. · On arrival, you will learn about the history of the place and get familiarized with the beer production process. · Next, you'll have a tasting of 6 different kind of beers served in small glasses especially thought for a degustation. · Before we depart from here, you will also be able to shop some unique "donkey" souvenirs. · Afterwards, we will head to Ftelos Brewery, which is situated on the main road leading from Fira to Pyrgos village. · At Ftelos, you will be welcomed by a beer expert and later proceed to have a beer tasting of 6 other beers in small glasses, with a platter of selected delicacies, as you get information about the quality specifications and the ingredients of each beer served. · At the end of our tour, I will drop you off at your hotel or any other place you wish (upon request).
