Hello, I am Makis! I was born and grow up in Santorini and I offer private tours. I am an experienced local guide who provide private tours for many years on Santorini. I love this island and I see as my obligation to give to the travelers the local eyeside about traditions. On this tour you will discover the history and myths of my beautiful Santorini. Why is history of Santorini so interesting? Some theories support that Thira was the site of the capital of Atlantis the lost civilization. Discoveries made in an important city near Akrotiri and the famous Red Beach showed the existence of an ancient Minoan colony. Also, it has taken thousands of volcanic eruptions for the island to be formed. It was always my passion meeting people from all over the world and sharing my knowledge for my island's history since I was a kid. I want to show you hidden places and narrate stories of my grand father, about old Santorini's habbits and traditions.

During this tour you will visit: Lost Atlantis Experience Museum -Experience is a private initiative, that promotes Greek heritage, culture and mythology. All the exhibits are in 8 languages Megalochori - is one of the most traditional villages of Santorini. It lies on a hill and is characterized as a labyrinth of steep alleys and streets, pirate hideaways and wine canavas. Akrotiri Archaeological Site - Akrotiri is much older than Pompeii and was destroyed by the Theran eruption in 1628 BC. Visit the Prehistoric site of Akrotiri and feel its unique majestic atmosphere while transferring yourself into the distant past. Red Beach- The red beach is arguably the most famous and beautiful beach of Santorini. Monastery of Profitis Ilias-The Monastery of Prophet Elias is built on the highest peak of Santorini, at 565 meters above the sea. From the yard of the Monastery, you get excellent and breathtaking views of the whole island of Santorini
