This is a special, themed tour involving the prelude to War, the Second World War in Stuttgart, and extensive damage due to the bombing and occupation, followed by what happened in post-war Stuttgart. Why was so much of the City torn down and not rebuilt to its' prewar splendor? We will address this topic as well as others.
The most important war memorials in Stuttgart including: - The Klaus von Stauffenberg Memorial and Museum - The 25th anniversary cube War Memorial with a warning to future generations - Hotel Silber - The "Gestapo" headquarters - the place of horrible actions - A trip to "Rubble HIll" - Birkenkopf, where most of pre-war Stuttgart buildings are located. The NS Justice building - the place of executions by the Nazis (time permitting)
