On this tour we will wander around many of Hamburg's wonderderful Christmas markets, experiencing all the city has to offer for the holiday season. Hamburg boasts the finest and most elaborate Chirstmas markets in Northern Germany. With dazzling lights, flying Santa Clause, delicious treats and traditional mulled wine it is easy to understand why. What better way to bring all this to life with the aid of a local guide to explain to you all the must sees for the your winter stay.
- We will first start our journey at one of the smaller less well-known markets and get an introduction to Christmas in Germany; its origins, its history, and how we celebrate it today (all over a warm festive beverage of course). From there we will set off to look at a multitude of small markets, each with their own special flair. Some are known for their crafts, some for their music, some for their food, and some even for their wild parties! - After this, we will of course stop by the Town Hall market to bewonder the giant Christmas tree, watch Santa fly across the sky and if we are lucky even catch the Christmas parade. -After we will go to the biggest outdoor ice-skating rink in any European city to soak up some local vibes and if you are feeling brave I can also bring you skating. - Then I like to finish with a bang at a Christmas market like no other known playfully as Santa Pauli situated in the Sankt Pauli district where Christmas has gotten a whole new definition - I won't ruin the surprise
