Hamburg Highlights Tour

Evan was a fantastic guide. If you want to see the city and have a very in depth three hour tour, I highly recommend this tour with Evan. We definitely got in our steps! He was personable and made a history lesson fun. I learned the early history to present day politics. We were able to see all key parts of the city and even walked under the city in a tunnel to get a perspective from the other side. I have been using Tours By Local for years in many cities and he is one of the best guides yet!! In chatting during the first half hour he understood my interests and clearly answered all of my questions and geared the walk to exceed my expectations. The three hours were a total blast! Thank you Evan for making me want to come back to Hamburg.

Our Hamburg tour with Evan was a huge hit! We actually didn’t expect too much from the tour given that we were only in Hamburg for one day before our return home, but Evan delivered in spades! He brought Hamburg to life in a way that you could really walk through history. We learned something new every much about the people of Hamburg, the history of trade and industry, and the huge impact of fire and war on the city. Evan’s curiosity, knowledge and humour was a gift! We had an amazing 3+ hours and, best of all, my 12 year old so was engaged throughout- a real feat! I would highly recommend this tour, and Evan in particular. It was a great way to end our 18 day European adventure.

Evan gave a private tour to my wife and I and another couple who are friends of ours. This tour was outstanding! From the moment we met Evan he was very personable, funny, and professional. His knowledge of Hamburg is extensive and extremely interesting. We all had a great time with Evan. He engaged with everyone on the tour to make sure everyone was involved. I highly recommend Evan as a guide!

Evan was very knowledgeable and so friendly. We have done many ToursByLocals before and this was without doubt one of the very best. Considering that we have enjoyed every other tour that we have done, I can really say no more. Keep doing what you’re doing Evan.

Let me save you the time of looking for a good—no, great—guide to lead you through the sights in Hamburg. Evan tailored our tour to fit our needs and delivered both historical and behind-the-scenes information in a way that entertained everyone in our group, from the teens to the fifty-somethings. He showed us the typical sights one should see in Hamburg as well as off-the-beaten-path gems like a Paternoster. Do you know what that is? Go on the tour to find out! We will definitely use him as a guide again when we have other friends and relatives come into town. His tour is worth every cent!

Evan was an excellent guide….very interesting and knowledgeable. We had very little prior knowledge about Hamburg and he brought it alive for us….he really outlined how vibrant a city it is….. embracing its history, building its modern infrastructure, celebrating its music scene, and showing off its quirkiness!! Enjoyed our day thoroughly and highly recommend his tour!
