Evan was very knowledgeable and so friendly. We have done many ToursByLocals before and this was without doubt one of the very best. Considering that we have enjoyed every other tour that we have done, I can really say no more. Keep doing what you’re doing Evan.

Evan tailored our tour to fit our needs and delivered both historical and behind-the-scenes information in a way that entertained everyone in our group, from the teens to the fifty-somethings. He showed us the typical sights one should see in Hamburg as well as off-the-beaten-path gems like a Paternoster. Do you know what that is? Go on the tour to find out! We will definitely use him as a guide again when we have other friends and relatives come into town. His tour is worth every cent!

Evan was an excellent guide….very interesting and knowledgeable. We had very little prior knowledge about Hamburg and he brought it alive for us….he really outlined how vibrant a city it is….. embracing its history, building its modern infrastructure, celebrating its music scene, and showing off its quirkiness!! We had a brilliant morning with Evan. He had answers for our many questions and lots of tips for things to do in Hamburg. His delivery is clear and he makes the history of Hamburg interesting by keeping it relevant. He was careful to ensure that our route was fully accessible as one of our party was in a wheelchair. Absolutely wonderful! My husband and I knew the best way to see Hamburg would be a private walking tour, since we had our 4 and our 2 year old children with us. Evan immediately let us know we could speed up, slow down, take breaks, truly whatever we needed to make this tour just right for us and our children. Evan shared so much interesting history with us, and even showed us some really unique hidden spots around the city that the kids also found really fun to see. We ended our tour at an amazing playground, where we could all try the Franzbrötchen we had picked up earlier in the morning (yum!), and the kids could play while we got the opportunity to have more great conversation with Evan. This day was such a memorable day for us. We are so grateful to have had Evan show us Hamburg. Cannot recommend this experience enough for any visitor to the city! Truly the best!

We had a fantastic tour with Evan and highly recommend him to anyone visiting Hamburg. He is warm and engaging, and clearly loves giving tours. Evan is very knowledgeable about all things Hamburg and offers several types of tours - the "first-time" tour we booked was super informative and gave us a great introduction to the city with lots of insider tips. We had a great time, and he was very patient with our many questions! Evan went above and beyond the parameters of our tour, texting us detailed instructions with maps pinpointing the sights we planned to see on our own. He even assisted us via text when we got turned around in one of the local parks late at night. He really made us feel like we had a local friend in Hamburg. :) We would have happily hired him to give us additional tours, but unfortunately, time did not permit.
