Hello, my name is Evan and I am a professional and also fun loving guide who enjoys nothing more than exploring new places and meeting new people. I myself am an avid traveller and through this believe to have gained a real insight into what it is that makes a memorable trip into an unforgettable one; and it is this special something which I try to bring into my tours. I like to use our time together to show you the Hamburg that most visitors never get to see. This, of course, means learning all about Hamburg's rich history and culture but also includes visiting a few secret spots, taking in some breathtaking views and what I particularly love, discussing what it is that makes the Hamburgers tick! Along the way it is always a great pleasure of mine to share one of my great passions with you, being the wonderfully weird German language. Most importantly of all however I also love to allow my enthusiasm for local food and drink spill over into the tour and chat all about Hamburg with you in one of our many local cafes or restaurants. I am very flexible with regards to my tours and all of my tours can be customized to your personal needs and interests. All you need to do is let me know in advance and we can work out a tour suited to you. Hopefully, we will see each other soon to learn all about Hamburg's beautiful city and have a few laughs along the way! -Registered tourguide in Hamburg. -8 years of professional guiding experience. -Guests guided thus far: over 12,000 -Member of Hamburger Guides e.V. -Member of BVGD No restrictions.

This tour is ideal for first both history enthusiasts and novices alike. Together we will uncover the rise of the Nazi party and the deadly consequences that would have for Hamburg and it's citizens. We will also take a closer look at how these events shape the city of Hamburg which we see today as well as it's people.
This tour will take place in some of Hamburg's most scenic districts which despite their beauty often hide a more sinister past. During the tour we will cover a wide range of topics including: - Hitler's rise in Hamburg - Bomb shelters - Jewish quarters - Hamburger Gestapo - Operation Gomorrah Hamburg's bombing - Beheading in the Third Reich - Concentration camp Neuemgamme - Book burnings - The night of broken glass (Kristallnacht) - Kindertransport - Cyclon-B gas production - Hamburgs surrender - The culture of remembrance - and much much more. . . Upon request in advance, it is also possible to include a break for lunch/dinner in a converted bunker from WWII (or at another location) Please note we cover the topic of the concentration camp at several memorials in the city. We do not visit the camp itself due to time restraints. If you wish to add on the camp please contact me. A minimum of 5 hours is needed to add in the camp due to the time required to get to and from the camp.
