Our walk takes us through the last four centuries of the city's evolution as a place to live and work. This story of the city's metamorphosis will be told to us by the buildings that have survived the tests of time. Our focus will be on the innercity area where most of its architectural marvels are located - the pulsating heart of the city.
Your Hamburg tour itinerary
- Our walk starts in the Deichstrasse - home to Hamburg's oldest surviving merchant housing. - From there we move to the Speicherstadt - the largest warehouse district in the World. That is also included in the UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. - Then, we cross over to the Hafencity and admire the city's latest landmark - the Elbphilharmonie. - From there we continue to Hamburg's other UNESCO - recognized World Heritage site - the Kontorhausviertel - a treasure trove of architectural wonders on its own. The expressionist masterpiece of the city - the Chilehaus - is the testament to the innovative architectural landscape of Hamburg. - From here, we wander towards the city center and conclude the tour at the Rathaus - Hamburg's magnificent city hall and the one true jewel in its crown of architecture.
