Suzhou is a city full of charm and history. Known as "heaven on earth," it boasts stunning gardens and rich cultural heritage. The city is famous for its beautiful landscapes, ancient temples, rivers, and hills. Suzhou’s gardens are even listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Key highlights include the Lingering Garden, Humble Administrator's Garden, Tiger Hill, and the peaceful Tongli Water Town. Suzhou's long history dates back to the 13th century when Marco Polo visited, drawn by its renowned silk production. Today, Suzhou remains a global center for silk. But Suzhou is not just about history. It is also a rapidly growing modern city, with the Jinji Lake area emerging as a hub for business and industry. On this tour, we will explore both the traditional and modern sides of Suzhou, focusing mainly on its cultural heart. This is one of my standard shore excursion tours, but I can also customize it to suit your preferences.
Your Shanghai tour itinerary
The Suzhou tour starts early because we have a lot to see and do. If you arrive later in the day in Shanghai, please contact me to discuss other options. Here's the plan for the day: 8:00 AM: I'll pick you up from your Cruise Passenger Terminal or your hotel in Shanghai. We’ll travel to Suzhou in a private, air-conditioned luxury car. First, we’ll visit the Humble Administrator’s Garden. Next, explore the historical city center of Suzhou. We’ll then visit the beautiful Lingering Garden. After that, we’ll see the famous Tiger Hill. Finally, we’ll take a stroll through Tongli Water Town. We’ll return to Shanghai by private car. I’ll drop you back at your Passenger Terminal or hotel. Let’s make the most of this exciting day!
