Very warm welcome in beautiful and historic city of Québec. I am an active guide since 2012, and have guided small and big groups in English, German and French. Enthusiastic and passionate with a sense of humor, I have a very good knowledge of history and geography. I can talk about these subjects and be entertaining. I have been living in the city for 50 years, therefore I can say a lot about everyday living in the city and the area. I like to talk about history when it can explain the events that follow, the dates of events are important only when put in a chronological context. I think guiding should be a learning experience as well as entertaining. At the end of a tour, the people I guide have a better understanding of the city, the province of Quebec and Canada and had a good time. I communicate very well both ways: talking and listening, therefore the tours listed can be custom tailored to your specific needs and expectations. Please contact me before the tours for proposed modifications, if any. I look forward to show you my wonderful city and its surroundings. B. Sc from the Université de Montréal. I am a licensed guide of the city of Québec since 2012. Member of the Historical society of Québec. Member of the Guide's association of the city of Québec. Additional university courses in Economics, History and Languages. No restrictions.

We will visit the historical and very well preserved Old town on foot. This is where Champlain landed more than 410 years ago to found one the oldest cities north of Mexico. We will be waking on the old cobblestone streets along the typical district with houses and buildings from the 17th thru the 20th century. The upper town (Charles Dickens described Québec as 'The Gibraltar of North America') shows the strategic military importance of the site and explains why the French settled here in 1608. This area is full of buildings relating to the political, military, religious and educational institutions of the French and, after the British colonies on the site. We will also view the incredible vista on the St Lawrence estuary near the Citadel. We will drive on the Plains of Abraham where took place the historical battle that changed North America. Also, I will show you popular districts of the city not often seen by tourists.
The itinerary will be tailored to your needs and expectations. We will walk on the cobblestone streets of the old lower town, where you find historical buildings, restaurants and shops, some of them operated by artists and artisans of the vicinity. We also see the beautiful Dufferin terrace overlooking the magnificent Saint Lawrence river. - Château Frontenac. - Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral, the first one in Canada. - The Cathedral Basilica, site of the oldest Catholic church north of Mexico. - The fortifications that encircle the old upper town. - City hall. - The Plains of Abraham. - The Parliament building Other sites popular with the local people, but often overlooked by many tourists, nonetheless important.
