This tour is meant to show you all there is to see from the most popular attractions of the Old Town to the more local neighbourhoods outside the touristy areas. You will discover during this walking tour all of Quebec City's secrets and experience its local life at its best. Living in Quebec City since 2007 and walking around everytime I have the chance (even on a day off!), I know this town like the back of my hand. Let me show you what makes living here so amazing. Old Quebec is a charming 400-year-old town nestled in the narrowing of the beautiful St-Lawrence River. During this tour, I will be more than happy to show you why Quebec City is regularly ranked among the world's top destinations. This UNESCO World Heritage site has a lot to offer, from old winding streets to trendy local restaurants, from traditional French architecture to proudly standing monuments. Needless to say, the best way to discover this fortified city is definitely by foot, following me through four centuries of history.
This 6, 5 km (4 miles) walking tour is a combination of my first-time-visitor city tour and my off-the-beaten-path tour. Our walk is planned with the goal to show you as much as possible, passing in front of most of the main attractions in the historic area, visiting as well the more local districts. Along the way, here are the main attractions we may see together: The Parliament Hill area The Plains of Abraham/Battlefields Park The Fortifications The Chateau Frontenac area The City Hall Place The Old Port district Place Royale and the Petit-Champlain neighbourhood: the oldest areas of the city Both St-Jean-Baptiste and Montcalm districts are going to be added to the classic itinerary, covering the main commercial streets of St-Jean st. and Cartier avenue. We will also make a stop at a local restaurant for a quick bite together. The restaurant will be decided during the tour according to your taste and not more than 45 minutes are going to be spent there (unless very busy).

This is a 6h walking tour estimated to 6,5 km (4 miles). You must be able to walk and/or stand for the duration of the tour. The itinerary will vary according to your walking capacity. Although Quebec City is very hilly, most of the tour is a moderate exercice as we are going to go at a slow pace. Many stops along the way will allow you to sit and rest for a moment. To avoid the steep walk from Lower Town to Upper Town, we can take the funiculaire up the cliff. Good walking shoes are recommended
