Such a wonderful tour! Djany was a fountain of information but not overwhelming. At lunch we talked about everyday life in Quebec City. She really knows all the little things about this city. Best tour yet by Tours By Locals.

I deeply believe traveling is a unique experience that has to go beyond stereotypes and tourist traps in order to be authentic and fulfilling. For me, truly discovering a new destination requires a real immersion into its heritage as much as into its revitalization. What do I like to share with you during my tours? Quebec City's rich history as well as its vibrant and dynamic rebirth as a cultural and gastronomic destination. You will finish my tours with a true perspective of its local life. You will also come back home with a better comprehension of our city’s important role in North America's development through all the key events taking place here since its founding. Some of them might surprise you! Moreover, I think it's really important to have a positive impact, as much as possible, on the local communities when traveling. That's why I support local businesses every time I have the chance myself. During my tours, I will definitely point out to you the best places to go to, not only to support our local industry, but also to enjoy the best service and products. As a passionate local about my city, and after more than 20 years living downtown, I am still amazed by its beauty, its heritage, its nature and its food (even after more than 16 years guiding too!) Whether you are looking to learn more about the military or cultural history, the architecture, the culinary industry, or anything else, I can tailor all my tours in order to focus more on your specific interests. As a foodie myself, I can also give you many suggestions about the best restaurants and pubs in town, before or during the tour. Don't hesitate to ask me! By the way, if you don't know how to pronounce my name, don't worry about it, you are not the only ones! My parents wanted to spell it unusually, even for us. So, I luckily got the chance to talk about it everyday! (The D is silent). ;) As well, you will notice during my tour that I don't have hair due to alopecia. At 37 years old, I lost all my hair because of this auto-immune disease. Besides this inconvenience, I am very healthy, just hairless. I'll be happy to talk about it if you have any questions. If ever you see me with hair, it’s a wig! See you soon! In 2011, I completed Tourism studies at the Champlain College and Cegep Limoilou institutions I am a Quebec City licensed tour guide and working as a full time freelancer since 2014 I am a board member of the AGTQ (Quebec Tour Guide Association) I organize the Pentathlon des Neiges event in February. The 2026 edition is my 6th year in the team.

This tour is meant to show you all there is to see from the most popular attractions of the Old Town to the more local neighbourhoods outside the touristy areas. You will discover during this walking tour all of Quebec City's secrets and experience its local life at its best. Living in Quebec City since 2007 and walking around whenever I have the chance (even on a day off!), I know this town like the back of my hand. Let me show you what makes living here so amazing. Quebec City is a charming 400-year-old town nestled in the narrowing of the beautiful St-Lawrence River. During this tour, I will be more than happy to show you why this place is regularly ranked among the world's top destinations to visit or live in! The best way to discover this city is definitely by foot, following me through four centuries of history.

I knew I was going to enjoy this tour just from the messages we exchanged while I was scheduling my tour. Djany was curious about what my expectations were for my visit to Quebec City. She contacted me on the day I arrived to suggest we postpone the tour for one day given the weather predicted. I was thankful for her flexibility, and used her suggestions on places I could visit on my own out of the elements. With drier, yet still very chilly weather to greet us the following day, Djany led me through a delightful visit through the various neighborhoods of Quebec City. She took cautions as we navigated up or down the streets and sidewalks to avoid areas where ice, slush or snow was still present. Djany also led me to a shop where I could purchase a wool scarf to help shield me from the chilly winds. All the while I was provided a great historical perspective of what's led up to the Quebec City of today.
Djany arrived early, kept us on schedule and adjusted to what we wanted to do. The car was clean and comfortable. I recommend this to everyone!
Great tour! We local sites, went off the beaten path at times. Stopped for snacks and shopping on request. Djany was knowledgeable, kept us on pace, and had great little facts. I highly recommend this tour.
Djany provided my wife and I with an amazing full day walking tour. Quebec City is a wonderful place to visit and Djany was one of the best tour guides we have ever had. Extremely knowledgeable, engaging and attentive to our needs as we discovered the beauty and history of this city. Highly recommend her as a guide.
We had a full day walking tour with Djany who was fantastic. She was on time, in fact a little early for our tour and we got started straight away. She was extremely knowledgeable and gave us lots of history and information and showed all the important spots. She took us to one of her favourite cafes for lunch in the park which was ideal and exactly what we wanted. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and if we come back to Quebec, a beautiful city, we would book with Djany again.
This 6, 5 km (4 miles) walking tour is a combination of my first-time-visitor city tour and my off-the-beaten-path tour. Our walk is planned with the goal to show you as much as possible, passing in front of most of the main attractions in the historic area as well as visiting the more local districts. Along the way, here are the main attractions we may see together: The Parliament Hill area The Plains of Abraham/Battlefields Park The Fortifications The Chateau Frontenac area The City Hall Place The Old Port district Place Royale and the Petit-Champlain neighbourhood: the oldest areas of the city St-Jean-Baptiste neighbourhood, the trendy area where some of the best restaurants and pubs are located Montcalm district, where the French and English bourgeoisies settled in the 19th and 20th centuries We will also make a stop at a local restaurant for a quick bite together, if needed. This stop will be decided during the tour according to your taste (cost not included).

This is a 7-hour walking tour estimated to 6,5 km (4 miles), including some hills. You must be able to walk and/or stand for the duration of the tour. The itinerary will vary according to your walking capacity and the pace desired. Although Quebec City is very hilly, most of the tour is a moderate exercice as we are going to go at a slow pace. Many stops along the way will allow you to sit and rest for a moment. To avoid the steep walk from Lower Town to Upper Town, we can take the funiculaire up the cliff. Good walking shoes and water are recommended.
