Bonjour! Welcome to Quebec! I was born and raised in a small town just outside the city. From generations of French settlers, my oldest one arrived here in 1664 as a fur trader. During my teenage years, I studied in Albany, New York in an ESL program for two years where I became fluent in English. I have a degree in Education from the Laval University in Quebec City and have been living here since then. I know the city's secrets, love every minute of all its seasons and can't wait to tell you all about it! I have worked in the tourism industry all my life and, I know, if you are looking to book a private tour, you are a curious and interested traveller and I love it! I am a friendly and enthusiastic person and all I want is for you to have the best city tour you ever had. I will customize it to your needs and interests, making sure when we walk around the old city, that you have the impression of being here with those French settlers more than 400 years ago. For me, a city tour is part history and part contemporary. At your pace and preference, we will walk to the monuments and historical sites, we will see and/or walk on the fortifications, experience the Wow of the Château Frontenac, see the murals, the churches, the canons, the architecture and more! We will also talk about the city today, its economy, the way we live, what we like to eat and do for fun, our schools and institutions, and anything else you might have questions about. At the end of our tour, you will be comfortable walking in the old town and you will know what is going on in the city as far as shows, festivals, exhibits etc. . . and the best spots for a drink, for jazz or simply for coffee. You will also have in hand my exclusive preferred restaurant list, mapped out with pricing, comments and phone numbers. Welcome to Québec! It will be my pleasure to share with you my affection and pride for this fabulous city! - In the Travel and Tourism Industry for some 25 years - B.A. in Education - Certified Quebec City tour guide ( Merici College ) - Member of the Quebec City Tour Guide Association - Member of the Quebec City Historical Society - Member of Quebec City Genealogy Society My car, a Lexus UX Hybrid, can accommodate up to 4 passengers. I am a licensed professional guide.

Overview of your Quebec City tour

'' I have no reply for your general other than by the mouths of my cannons and muskets '' Frontenac famously rebuffed the English envoy sent on land in Quebec in the fall of 1690. The most photographed hotel in Canada was named after him on the site of the St-Louis castle. We will see the Royal Battery, walk along the ramparts, visit the Cathedral Notre-Dame, City Hall and much more. As we walk along and go back in time during the New France era and the British period, you will see and hear about the events that shaped the city to its modern unique character and have a better understanding of the pride we take in our European roots. The tour ends on Petit Champlain, the most charming area of the city with its cobblestone streets and French architecture. Quaint and charming restaurants now surround Royal Place where everything began in 1608. At the end of our tour, I will give you my exclusive list of restaurant recommendations.

Marie is a wonderful guide, she was able to develop a tour that added to our knowledge. We toured a few things before seeing her and she quickly filled in the gaps. She’s engaging and a professional in every sense. You cannot go wrong hiring her, she’s intelligent, witty, charming and thoughtful .

We very much enjoyed this three hour walking tour of the historical highlights of the upper and lower towns in Quebec City. We are both interested in the history of the province but this tour would be equally suitable for all persons visiting Quebec City who wish to see the historical highlights. We highly recommend her as a guide.

Marie’s deep knowledge, love of country and engaging delivery bring Québécois history to life. She is equally proficient in current affairs and answered any question we threw her way. If that weren’t enough, Marie has a foodie’s appreciation of fine dining and generously shares her restaurant list. We didn’t want the tour to end.
