Christian is an extremely knowledgeable guide regarding the history of Quebec City. He presents the subject matter in a well organized manner and continuously reviews and connects previous historical information to new information he presents. Christian uses small visual aids which help you to "see" the development of Quebec City and why/how it is the city it is today.
He is very personable and his presentation is organized.
He reached out to us prior to our tour to help with planning and tailoring the tour for us.
I can't imagine there is a better guide in the city. (Maybe some that are equal?).
All 7 of us gave Christian a big thumbs up. He was easy to listen to and wove an understandable and coherent history of Quebec together. Interesting, entertaining and clear!!! all really good qualities we love in a guide.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Outstanding Tour and the Best Guide We've Ever Had
My spouse and I have taken guided tours across Asia, Europe, and the United States, and we've been fortunate to have some truly exceptional guides over the years. That said, I can confidently say that, for me, Christian's walking tour of Old Québec is my favorite tour experience of all.
Christian is incredibly personable, patient, and engaging. He welcomed questions throughout the tour and handled a few unavoidable interruptions— of a few work-related phone calls during our tour—with grace, good humor, and absolutely no sign of irritation. He made us feel very comfortable.
What truly sets Christian apart is his ability to tell a story – and to connect multiple histories and perspectives. In just three hours, he guided us through more than 420 years of Québec City's history in a way that was cohesive, understandable, and fascinating from beginning to end.
His ability to weave together the histories of Québec, France, Europe, Indigenous peoples, Canada, and even the United States was masterful. Historical events, people, and places that could easily feel disconnected became part of a compelling narrative that brought the city to life.
I spent several weeks in Québec City a few years ago and absolutely loved it then.
After taking Christian's tour, I love it even more now. Alongside Paris—and perhaps even surpassing it this trip—Québec City has become my favorite city to visit and simply be in.
Christian's passion for the city is contagious.
In fact, the tour inspired me to start planning a return visit already. The German Christmas Market and the famous ice canoe races are now firmly on my list—perhaps this year and certainly by next year.
My spouse had never visited Québec City before this trip and came away equally impressed.
He especially appreciated how Christian presented the city's history from the time of the Indigenous peoples through the modern era, making it accessible, meaningful, and memorable.
And Christian—I've never been much of a Korean drama fan, but after your recommendation, I'm now going to track down Guardian: The Lonely and Great God ("Goblin") and give it a watch!
If you're visiting Québec City and considering a walking tour, stop looking and book this one. Christian is exceptional, and this tour is an absolute highlight of any visit to this remarkable city.
Highly, highly recommended!!
Christian is a fabulous tour guide! Our group of 6 learned so much about the rich history, architecture and current life living in Quebec City. Christian is passionate about the city and we all had so much fun on our tour. We highly recommend having Christian as your tour guide!
Christian Gingras was absolutely amazing! Couldn't ask for a better guide. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, punctual and professional. It was like walking around with a friend taking you on a tour of their lovely city. Pointed out things that I would not have even noticed. I highly recommend Christian for your private escorted tour.
