Greetings to you dear traveler, My name is Jean-Simon and I am native from right here in Quebec city. A few years ago I decided to put my extensive historical knowledge to use and become a tour guide. This had led us right here, so let me tell you what kind of person I am, my background and perhaps some of the reasons why I may be part of your next trip. When I was growing up, some of the very first books I've read were history books. In fact, if I remember well, the first of them was a book about Alexander the great. You could say I'm a very curious person in general, I love getting more knowledge about things, learning about what happened in the past, about cultures, about people, about languages. So it is with this philosophy that I grew up with and that still defines me. And of course the things you love affect the things you do. The love I had especially for military history, made me sign up for service right after high school. So from 2015 to 2022 I was a service member and ended up as a military intelligence analyst, which may sometimes affect (in a positive way) the way I present my city and it's history. It is in 2018 that I decided to take the college course to become a certified tour guide here in Quebec city. I used to do it in my off days whilst being in the military but I have more time for them since leaving service. Over the years I must say I have evolved to provide a quality & worthy presentation of my city, it's history and the French-Canadian people in general. Add to that, my own travel experiences to that as well. I know what you're looking for in a trip, what's good and what to avoid. With stays of 3 months in Egypt, 1 month in Turkey, 3 weeks in Israel & smaller trips on the side, and many more to come, I know how to make the most out of a trip to a foreign country. Since the end of 2022, I am also a part-time employee of the famous Château Frontenac 5-star hotel as a bellman, so needless to say it has added an extra touch towards my idea of customer service. All in all, I hope this had provided you with a good overview of who I am and what you can expect from having my services on your trip. To the pleasure of seeing you in a not so far future, à bientôt, Jean-Simon -Tour guide course diploma (Collège Mérici)* Licensed guide* (Quebec City tour guiding permit) -Great knowledge of history, military history in particular -6 years spent in the Canadian Armed Forces, mainly as a military intelligence specialist -1 year spent as a construction worker traveling on different sites throughout the city -Many travels under the belt myself, lots of experience interacting and sharing with foreign peoples & cultures -Good insight on present life, local issues and politics -Own a comfortable 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan (6 passengers + me) -Own a comfortable 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium -Most of my tours involve walking, although I could adapt it by using car transportation.

Somewhere along your way you have ended up here, in the oldest city in Canada. They say ''if only walls could talk'', so you could know what happened here. Well perhaps I can speak on their behalf. Best suited for a first-time visitor who has no or little prior knowledge of Quebec city, embark on this 3-hour journey to give you a foundation base on the past and present of this town, to know more about it's monuments and the people who have lived here throughout the ages. Legendary characters, dazzling views, age-old monuments leave little room for disappointment. So, is it your turn to learn about the Gibraltar of North America?
Upper town -Place d'armes, Château Frontenac, Champlain statue and Dufferin Terrasse -Notre-Dame de Québec, Quebec Seminary, city hall -St-Louis st, the walls, parliament, plains of Abraham Lower town -Côte de la montagne, Montmorency Park -Place Royale, St-Pierre street -Mural of the Quebecers
