I’m a proud Québécois and have been living in Québec City for over 40 years. It’s my home — and I can’t wait to share it with you. Québec City is one of the oldest cities in North America, and its history is everywhere: in the architecture, the streets, the traditions, and the stories that have shaped it for over four centuries. During our tour, history won’t just be a backdrop — it will be part of everything we see, feel, and experience together. But there’s more. I’ll also introduce you to what I call the Québec Difference — the unique character of our society that sets us apart from the rest of the continent. This distinctiveness comes from a blend of French, British, Canadian, and North American influences. It explains our language, our values, our institutions… and yes, sometimes even our tensions and debates. The Québec Difference has given rise to deep pride, but also to political movements and cultural challenges that still shape our society today. Whether you’re a couple, a family, a solo traveler, or part of a group, my goal is to make you feel welcome and help you connect with Québec City in a meaningful way. I love sharing both the big stories and the little-known facts — from major historical turning points to local customs and everyday life. If you’re looking for something a little different, or if you have special interests or needs, just reach out! I’d be happy to tailor a tour that’s just right for you. I look forward to meeting you — and I promise, you’ll leave Québec City with a smile, great memories, and a new appreciation for this remarkable city. What makes Quebec so different from everywhere else in North America? On this 2.5-hour tour, you’ll discover the roots of a unique culture that still thrives through its French language, heritage, and identity. As we explore the historic streets of Old Quebec, you’ll learn how French and British influences shaped this remarkable city. From battles that defined a nation to institutions that preserved its culture, every stop reveals a new layer of Quebec’s story. We’ll visit landmarks like Place Royale, Château Frontenac, the city’s two main cathedrals—Catholic and Anglican—and more. Along the way, I’ll share stories that explain why Quebec stands apart in the North American landscape. Whether it’s your first visit or not, you’ll come away with a deeper understanding of this extraordinary city—and why it continues to proudly hold on to its identity.
The itinerary will be a bit different for every tour depending on the starting point but will include most of the following (not in particular order): * Place Royale, the birthplace of Quebec City * Rue du Petit-Champlain, voted many times as the most beautiful street in Canada * Château Frontenac, a beautiful hotel that has become the symbol of Quebec City * Terrasse Dufferin, a wonderful boardwalk with stunning views on the St. Lawrence River * Monument Wolfe-Montcalm, the first monument in Quebec and its importance in understanding Canada's heritage * Morrin Center, the first prison, a college and a cultural and historical center * Holy Trinity and Notre-Dame, the first Anglican and Catholic cathedrals * Séminaire de Québec, my favorite part of the city, the cradle of the Catholic Church in Canada * Parc Montmorency, the birthplace of democracy in Canada Subject to some changes.

This is a walking tour only, our feet will provide all the transportation needed (and they're very good at this!). Quebec City can be hilly but our itinerary will be mostly downhill.

I really like to start my tours at the Champlain Monument (on Dufferin Terrace), the heart of Old Quebec, for the history of the city to unfold along the tour. But it it's important for you, I can pick you up anywhere inside the walls of Old Quebec or in the historic Lower town area. Please dress comfortably (good walking shoes) and appropriately for the weather.
