I’m a proud Québécois and have been living in Québec City for over 40 years. It’s my home — and I can’t wait to share it with you. Québec City is one of the oldest cities in North America, and its history is everywhere: in the architecture, the streets, the traditions, and the stories that have shaped it for over four centuries. During our tour, history won’t just be a backdrop — it will be part of everything we see, feel, and experience together. But there’s more. I’ll also introduce you to what I call the Québec Difference — the unique character of our society that sets us apart from the rest of the continent. This distinctiveness comes from a blend of French, British, Canadian, and North American influences. It explains our language, our values, our institutions… and yes, sometimes even our tensions and debates. The Québec Difference has given rise to deep pride, but also to political movements and cultural challenges that still shape our society today. Whether you’re a couple, a family, a solo traveler, or part of a group, my goal is to make you feel welcome and help you connect with Québec City in a meaningful way. I love sharing both the big stories and the little-known facts — from major historical turning points to local customs and everyday life. If you’re looking for something a little different, or if you have special interests or needs, just reach out! I’d be happy to tailor a tour that’s just right for you. I look forward to meeting you — and I promise, you’ll leave Québec City with a smile, great memories, and a new appreciation for this remarkable city. If you like to bring back home some great photos from your vacation, this tour is what you're looking for. I'm a licensed tour guide in Quebec City but also a professional photographer. In addition to giving you a lot of information and knowledge about the city's rich and diverse history, I will bring you to places that are not included in the traditional guided tour circuits. You will find that those places have great photo opportunities and you'll make people jealous when you get back home and show your photos on social media. As I'm a photographer myself, I will be able to give you tips to create beautiful images of the city. Since I've been living here for almost 40 years, I know about all the great photo spots and the little details that will make a difference. When possible, we will choose the tour's starting hour to take advantage of the great light at the end of the day. Walking this city is by far the best way to discover all its little hidden gems.
The itinerary will be a bit different for every tour depending on the starting point but will include the following: * Place Royale, the birthplace of Quebec City * Rue du Petit-Champlain, voted many times as the most beautiful street in Canada * Château Frontenac, a beautiful hotel that has become the symbol of Quebec City * Parc Montmorency, for a great alternative view on Château Frontenac * Terrasse Dufferin, a wonderful boardwalk with stunning views on the St. Lawrence River * Terrasse Dugua-de-Mons, for the greatest view on Château Frontenac, the river, the terrace and Old Quebec * Quebec City Fortifications, with its magnificent gates * Québec's National Assembly, our parliament building inspired by Le Louvre Museum in Paris * Fontaine de Tourny, right in front of the parliament building * Séminaire de Québec, my favorite part of the city, quiet and so charming This is subject to change due to special events in the city or roadwork being done.

This is a walking tour only, our feet will provide all the transportation needed (and they're very good at this!). Quebec City can be hilly but our itinerary will be mostly downhill.
Rue des Carrières, Québec, Québec, G1R 5J5, Canada
I really like to start my tours at the Champlain Monument (on Dufferin Terrace), the heart of Old Quebec, for the history of the city to unfold along the tour. But it it's important for you, I can pick you up anywhere inside the walls of Old Quebec. Please dress comfortably (good walking shoes) and appropriately for the weather. A camera lens or smartphone that has a 24mm to 50mm equivalent focal distance (a 24-70mm lens is ideal but not required). A tripod/monopod is not required.
