Hello! Hola! Bonjour! Looking for a knowledgeable, professional, fun and passionate tour guide? Well, I am the right person to show you this unique beautiful historic city! Here is what you can expect from my tours: - a personalised and friendly experience; I tailor the tour according to your interests and pace. - a better understanding of the context of historic events that shaped the city, the province or even the country; I offer different perspectives, including First Nations, French, British, Canadian, etc. - a knowledgeable description of the most iconic buildings, places, public monuments and landscape of the old city. - an overview of modern Québec, including “Québécois” culture, language, identity and, of course, gastronomy; I will be more than glad to provide some recommendations. - suggestions about the best pics (“Instagram Moments”). - I encourage and welcome questions. My goal is to contribute to enhancing your vacation experience in Québec City. Trained in communication, I am passionate about arts, culture, history, politics and socioeconomics, including the perspective of First Nations (indigenous peoples) in all of these. My academic background and my interests shape the content of my guided visits in Québec City, helping visitors, as I often say, to discover the soul of this unique city. I started my career as a tour guide back in the mid 90’s in Colombia, my country of origin. In 1997, I came to Canada to learn English and French, and I fell in love with this country right away. Proudly, I have been calling Canada home ever since. I have lived in Toronto then Montreal, before settling in Quebec City in 2002. My first job in my adopted country was (of course) acting as a tour guide, taking visitors in a Central Canada itinerary: Niagara Falls, Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal and Québec City. I subsequently worked for the Provincial Government, promoting Québec internationally. After 22 years, I decided to pursue my career in what I enjoy most and do with my friends and family: assisting visitors who are eager to learn about a place that is new to them or want to rediscover the city off the beaten path. My diversified background has helped me develop a multifaceted approach to explaining the city: - Certified tour guide in Québec City (St-Lawrence College). - Bachelor’s degree in communication and journalism (Colombia). - Undergraduate diploma in French (Montreal). - Postgraduate diploma in international management (Quebec City). - International MBA (Paris, France). Consequently, some of the comments that I have received (2024) from my guests indicate that - my visits are “very educational and fun”, - I am a “fantastic storyteller”, - I do a “good job of weaving a city history with many angles of the same story”, and - I have “a good sense of humour, (am) knowledgeable, respectful, and share in a manner that keeps everyone engaged”. Please let me share with you the enthusiasm that I have for my adopted city, acting as your private local tour guide during your stay in "the Number One City in Canada" (Travel + Leisure Magazine, 2024).
