The tour will immerse you in the charming ambience of Plovdiv and its long fascinating history. We will explore the Old Town, Bulgarian Revival Houses and the Ethnographic Museum, the Roman theatre, the artistic quarter, and more. We shall have lunch at one of the charming places in the old town. While on the road we will also have the opportunity to admire at diverse landscapes and to discuss issues of interest. We had a marvelous day trip. with Kamen leaving Sofia at his suggestion at 11am and returning from Plovdiv late so as to avoid being stuck in traffic and this worked well for a leisurely tour with lunch. Kamen is both an accomplished scholar and hiker fitness expert and very helpful accomodating our limited mobility
We had a marvelous and educational day with Kamen in Plovdiv. His deep mastery of the history and culture of Bulgaria -- indeed the entire region -- gave us a foundational context to our Central European trip. Fluent in English, his communication before/during/after the tour was excellent. He astutely gauged our interests and energy level throughout the day (it was our first full day in country). He conscientiously ensured we were comfortable by providing snacks, water, and breaks for coffee and lunch in authentic locations. He even hopped on the phone with the local delivery guy to confirm our delayed luggage was delivered to our hotel. We enthusiastically recommend touring with Kamen!
An excellent knowledgable tour guide who is one of the best tour guides that my spouse and I have ever had anywhere in the world in our travels. We learned a lot about not onlyurbsn.historical Bulgaria but its floor and fauna especially birds.Thank you for introducing him to us.
We will travel by car. We will make one short stop along the road. We shall spend some time in the charming old town with its cobbly streets, old houses and Roman walls. We will climb to a vantage point that overlooks the city, we shall take a look at the Roman theatre, the restored St Konstantin and Elena church, the unique frescoes at the Basilica. We will check out the Stadium and the mosque, and feel the atmosphere along the longest walking street in the region.
