Plovdiv and Bachkovo Monastery - a full-day tour from Sofia

rest day into the Bulgarian countryside. The town of Plovdiv and the Bachkovo Monastery were amazing. The cobble stones in the town were really something to walk on !! A great experience though. The monastery was fabulous. Amazing architecture and ruins. Inside the churches were absolutely amazing paintings and icons. He gave a detailed explanation of the religious paintings and symbols that we would not have gotten any other way. incredible experience. The best of the best.

Philip made our trip to Bulgaria! Philip was extremely accommodating and punctual but above all Philip's wealth of knowledge allowed us to really see Bulgaria. He also made two dinner recommendations and they were delicious! We would highly recommend Philip for any tour and hope one day to meet with him again!

We had a very interesting day with Philip in Plovdiv and at a monastery on the way. He is very knowledgeable, talkative, service minded and reliable. He answered all our questions with great patience. We learned a lot about Bulgarian history and the current situation in Bulgaria. We were very pleased with him.

Philip is a person who enjoys traveling, and therefore, he DOES understand what a traveler and a tourist would like to hear, sense and experience. He has an 'eye' to people and their personalities, and accordingly, he tailors his behaviour and tours. He is like a mine of diamonds … you have to dig, to get the diamonds out. So, please ASK him anything .. you will be amazed with his vast knowledge, and friendly personality. As for the sites we visited, it deserved every bit of our time.
